I applied for some senior positions at AbbVie online 2 weeks ago. The status appears as “resume received” for some positions, status of one position appears as “under review” while another position shows “in progress”. Any idea how long their hiring team takes to get back following the application?
Referrals seem to have the upper hand so I figured advertising myself is worth a shot. Recent M.A grad currently based in atl, but looking to move to nyc. Any suggestions or advice to study for the LSAT?
I just interviewed via zoom for JPMorgan Chase for trade support (thinking no more interviews were needed). The next day the recruiter calls me, saying that the team is very interest and went over logistics. She said she was going to talk back to the team and let me know next steps. The next day I get an e-mail requesting an interview again for the role but from the recruiting coordinator. Does JP give offers via zoom? Any similar stories?

Hey, I understand how you feel. The fact that you’re feeling like this is realization and probably an attempt to take control of your situation which is a good thing. My advice to you is that sit down, write down a few important goals (if it’s career goals). Mark the ones you can’t forgive yourself if you don’t achieve them. Research them, write out an action plan of how you can achieve them taking your current setbacks into account. For example if it’s tech you want to venture into and you think you don’t have an impressive GPA, do you have an impressive portfolio? If not, list actionable steps of how to have an impressive portfolio to compensate for he low GPA. If you don’t have the best resume to get you attention, do you have a network to get you attention? If not, come up with a plan to network at the firms you’re interested in. There a lot more things you can do, but the key is to list what is most important to you, and develop an action plan to achieve it step by step. It could help. There is light at the end of the tunnel. If you run into a corner, don’t be afraid to start over. Because you will not be starting from scratch but from experience :)
No one understands you better but yourself. Therefore no one can really help you, but you. Be positive and do not overthink. Take one step at a time and try to remove radical thoughts. They add more weight to your baggage.
You are not damaged. You have skills and passion. Sit down and write out all of the things you know you are capable of doing, highlighting the ones you love doing. Now write down all the things you know you could quickly learn to do if you needed to. You've probably got a fairly long list. Look for jobs that require those skills, make sure your resume highlights the ways you've demonstrated those skills (regardless of your timeline), and get out there with as much confidence as anyone else with the same skills would have.
