I’ve been offered an exciting role with Accenture, I have the contract sitting in my inbox to be signed, but my current employer KPMG are offering me a retention bonus and are guaranteeing me promotion next June/July. Could it be worth calling recruitment at Accenture to explain the situation and ask if they can do anything else for me, ie a sign on bonus… or at least to ask more questions around career progression etc? Could they reneg? I’m really stuck and can’t decide.

Not a good time to join Nielsen RMS India bro. The company has been under a transition with no vision recently. This led to mass attrition even across covid periods. The company did not rehire to reduce the negative margins putting pressure on the existing resources which further led to 90% churn of employees in 2 years. Hardly any senior folk left to train the scarce new joinees. I would suggest to defer joining this company for a year or 2 to see if it survives this transition or becomes a titanic. 😊
You can leave, it's ok. Say the same to HR and move on. If you didn't perform well they would send you out that's the reason they keep Probation. It works both ways 😉
Ptobation period is for the same. If you dont like, you can leave, if they dont like, they will ask you to leave. Always remember, no one care about your success except you. Company hire you for their success, not for your career growth. So, take informwd decision and move ahead.
Salary hike is not that significant from here. Only reason is that I have worked a lot with nielsen database, I am familiar with their culture and role is also for senior position. I do understand it's really not ethical to leave a job this soon coz of money. I haven't made up mind yet. Thanks for ur comments.
