I recently interviewed for a client-side marketing manager role with a global company. I’ve been engaged with the company for over a year and built a network of internal advocates. One of my internal contacts was the hiring manager who promised to do whatever she could to help me get hired. The position was on her team and she told me to apply. After five interviews I was not selected although I met all of requirements and more. I’ve yet to from her as to why. Would you fight this?
Have a month to kill before my next project starts. Any suggestions on how to get connected with proposal work? Don't worry I'm fitting PTO in there but don't wanna be chillin the entire time
Project is ending and I think i am going to miss my manager. Good managers really do make a difference. 😊
I have a love/hate relationship with my job. I've been in the same project for 3 years. I started as an analyst at 57k. I'm a first year class consultant making 82k now. EY has offered me 103..cont
Lost a client to UBS today. Sold her out of a 6 year annuity after only 3 years. She needs the guaranteed income! No other savings, age 60, no job with solid income, no husband. Who allows this?
PwC fishes, I have just been offered for a SM role in Advisory, Financial services. Can anyone tell me how often you will have to visit client offices and is it worth staying closer to airport instead of More London ? Or, is it feasible to commute from a place like Cambridge to offset expensive London home rentals! I have loads of questions but this is the top priority.
Has anyone ever in-charged as a first year? Do you have any advice? Currently working on 7 DC EBPs. Started in-charging 2 weeks into the first year client.
Hi, Does anyone have any idea about xoriant? Is it a product or service based? How's the job security, WLB? And do they send employees to work from client locations?
Hello Fishes, I have been trying to apply the the Agile Project Manager Scrum Master position with Accenture for a few days now. However the job portal has been taking me around in an endless loop of 'Job search - Application - we have your CV - Apply through Job Search' without actually processing the application against any of the positions! Is someone else facing a similar issue? Or can please someone who has successfully navigated this Chakravyu help me out here! Thanks in advance
Slalom folks! Is it an expectation that you will have a car to drive to client sites if you join? Particularly, in the Boston office, do most people have cars/is it manageable without a car?
I have a client that had a CD come due while I was gone during Christmas... the money wasn’t sent out in time(Tuesday versus Friday) and she emailed me complaining about it. I sent it to home office..
That awkward moment when your client whips out an electronic cigarette and starts puffing away mid presentation.
My CD is so fucking unoriginal he pitched "Life moves fast" to a client as a tagline. And thought it was brilliant.
For people in consulting - do you often read books about project management and motivation? Would appreciate your recommendations (preferably the ones with more than one thought for the whole brick of text 🤨).
Having to fly American for a project due to costs and flight availability. Seriously night and day compared to delta. It's like all airline courtesies went out the window.
I have just over 2 years experience in consulting, I am focussed on FS clients but still a generalist for the most part and I’m not truly enjoying consulting. I would like to be client facing with a good work/like balance, and so have looked at roles such as customer success or account executive. However, I’m wondering what other types of roles could work for me? (I realise there are so many options but I just have no idea and so don’t know what to look for!) Would appreciate any and all ideas!
I’m about to be staffed on a 3 month project and I will be having surgery on the 5th week of the project. How should I let my manager know? Would this be grounds to not staff me? The surgery is important and the recovery shouldn’t be too bad (1-2 weeks). I plan on taking a week off but letting the team know that I can come online to work but not the full day
Can I use well being subsidy and hybrid productivity benefits if going on maternity leave in Deloitte USI?
Is it possible to make a million in any sales position? I see so many classes and books on how to be a millionaire by selling. Seems like BS.
Is it impossible for me to get my start in advertising if I'm not part of MAIP (I'm a POC)? I've been looking for a position since March, and I saw recently a lot of MAIP creative interns have been hired fulltime at their respective internship. Is it hopeless for me? Yes, I have a portfolio if anyone is hiring for a Jr CW position.
Pls help .In capgemini, documents submitted, 2 rounds of interview over, and now they are sending an email to provide amcat test?what is this now?im well experienced employee. Lol
Considering a mini pivot from growth/performance marketing to a product marketing role and hoping for a gut check from those who have done both. I'm trying to move away from the transactional culture of growth marketing, which feels like a numbers game. I'm also intrigued by product management and user research, but not ready to invest in that bigger leap, so product marketing seems like a half-step to get more exposure to those teams. Am I on the right track here? Any advice on the transition?
When the Partner who told you they would staff you on a project doesn’t reply to your emails…
Got a director role from f100 industry, and waiting for a team match process from FAANG. Contemplating if I should accept the industry offer, since the FAANG opportunity is moving very very slowly. Looking for WLB and hence the switch. Both roles (in both companies) align to my skill sets. Please advise!
What is the Sr Consultant compensation band in Deloitte consulting (Analytics & Strategy) ? Thanks in advance!!
I am struggling with the fact that I have 13 years of HR experience in one capacity or another, along with a bachelors degree and my PHR designation yet companies say “I’m not qualified or they ghost me when I apply for HR openings. I am experienced in all aspects of HR. How are people with little to no experience coming right out of college obtaining higher level roles than I have currently? It makes my passion for the field just go away.
Any recommendations for an accounting recruiter with a national job database? Finally taking the plunge and want to use a recruiter. I'm looking for a remote only role as I don't know where I want to live.
What would be the reasons to be classified as an exempt employee and not get OT? Bc of covid?
Thoughts on Prosci or SHRM-SCP certification? Which would be considered more valuable or highly regarded? Currently focused on Change Management but have a HR background (industry experience / area of study in college).
Hi all, I have an interview with EYP private equity group. Can anyone shed some light on what to expect?
I’m being made to work about 50h of client work even while taking PTO once a week. PPMD just keeps putting me on additional small projects that require about 5-10h/week even though he knows I’m fully stretched between a full time and part time project taking 45h+ which is why I’m taking 1day/week off. I feel imma get burnt out soon and start looking elsewhere. Anybody going though this? ‘Tis the impact of high turnover & lack of understanding of boundaries + Team can’t find new candidates
this job has taught me that growing up is just leaving your foot hang over the bed when you fall asleep at night in your hotel room so the monster can get you and you don't have to go to work tomorrow
