I have just agreed my new contract which is slightly below average salary rate but I don’t mind as I enjoy the work. However in the past year I’ve contributed a lot and done many overtime hrs every week. So this time I asked for 29 days holidays plus bank holidays. Is this too much to ask? I know this year I’ll end up doing crazy hrs which I don’t mind but in return I just want a longer holiday period.

Ask for volunteer days as well, if you volunteer.

This is such a good point. I always forget to ask for that. I love to volunteer when I can.

I think that's perfectly reasonable. You listed the reasons why and they make sense to me. Especially since you agreed to a slightly below average salary rate they are getting a deal.

That seems perfectly reasonable to me. Did you list your reasons to the company?

Applied for a role as a director of sales with a medical company and got past initial screening and interviewed quite well with VP of sales. He stated he will tell recruiter to reach out and set up 2nd interview. Although within holiday week they stated they're looking to fill void asap. Has been over a week and still no email/phone call follow up by company recruiter. Kind of a cause of concern some might say a lil unprofessional to not hear any communication whether nay of yay.

Coming up on promotion eligibility- what should I be looking for?

Background: I’m in an engineering role where there only two of us for the entire organization, I could theoretically get promoted 4 or 5 times before I “cap out.” I started at the lowest level making ~70k. I know other organizations offer the next level at around ~90k. I really like my employer and ability to be fully remote, so I don’t necessarily want to switch companies.

My question is, what raise value would be too low?
