I have kept on applying and still no interviews 😭! Is there a possible route that I should take to try again to get into MBB firms? Is there any non-mba masters program that you would recommend that would help me get into MBB firms? It was my dream firm that I have been battling myself to get into

1) strong resume
2) partner referral

Multiple inputs to achieve either of those

More than happy to help examine your resume if you’d like.

This was the resume I submitted for MBB firms.

Hey Op! Sorry for the late response. I have some insight:

Under your first professional experience,
- “reduced expenses from 1M to 5M.” That does not make sense. Do you mean $10 mln??
- remove the word just —> it sounds like slang

Change for change
- excel part feels unnecessary and doesn’t really add anything
- i would say something like “spearheading market growth by 20%”
This is an issue I see throughout your resume; it reads very weird to start with the percentage.

Green light solutions (this TOOK UP A LOT OF SPACE LOL)

VP
- motivated sounds weird imo. I would change the verb
- “managing and reducing” sounds redundant. Choose one

Project lead
- “a real estate client” —> “real estate client” no “A” needed
- enhanced KPI by 45%
Again, put the action before the percentage!!!

De Anza
- help students “receive”
You used the wrong verb form there
- Encouraged 40% of 22k students
JUST GIVE THE NUMBER. Don’t make them do math. FYI, it is 8800, so just say that if that’s what you want to convey

Best,
Will

This is really helpful info. Thank you for sharing.

💡 Example: Instead of saying "worked with team members on project", say "Collaborated with 5+ analysts on go-to-market strategy by researching 20+ cities across the United States, resulting in an ARR of $1M."

💡 Last but not least, keep it concise. One or two pages max

Not sure if opportunity cost (spend 200K+ on MBA, lose on potential EM salary) is worth the generalist degree/MBA network that may balance the hyper specialized experience I’ve had, and if it would help with long term career likely in pharma and/or biotech VC
