I have my first oral argument before the 2DCA in Florida. Any pointers, recommendations, suggestion, etc. would be greatly appreciated!

I watched Sleet lay into an OC because they kept shaking their head during our OA. So don’t do that lol. Labrit knows her stuff so be prepared. Atkinson is sort of theoretical at times.

And be prepared to wait forever for an opinion (I’m on month 7 of waiting for an opinion lol)

Update: I am before Judge Kelly, Judge Stargel, Judge Labrit. They just changed it.

Kelly didn’t ask me any questions actually, and Stargel asked me one. Labrit was the main Judge interacting.

Having confidence to take the next step in your career is all about the process.

Thoughts —> Beliefs —> Actions —> Outcomes —> Repeat

This virtuous cycle is a continuous feedback loop that builds on itself.

Focus on positive thoughts and let the negative ones float on by.

When thoughts become beliefs, take action.

Outcomes give you data to help adjust your approach and build confidence.

Repeat. Repeat. Repeat.

I feel that my growth and development in my current agency is being held back because my managers don't have the technical proficiency of aptitude in digital media to keep up with current developments in the industry.
The problem is that I respect them (would even consider them friends). They are about 10 years older than I am, but they've largely only worked in our little niche sector.
Does anybody have any advice about how to overcome this. I don't want to drop them in it with their bosses.

I know this is very specific, but I'm curious what has been the case for others at firms with similar vacation rules.

Thoughts on a late 1st year going in-house? I'm getting close to an offer with a decent corp, in a dream location (Miami) with equal or slightly increased salary (cravath scale). My story is unique because I had significant experience prior to law school that makes me somewhat marketable to the company. While I'm well aware of my limited practice knowledge, I don't feel like I'm actually learning in my current role anyway. I also have zero interest in making partner. Is this too soon to jump?
