I have never worked in the hotel/hospitality industry and there is an opportunity a professional connection of mine placed in front of me. Can anyone give me some pros/cons to the industry in regards to working in Human Resources?

It's really not that much different than any other industry. Depending on the company, there may be more recruiting to be done due to high turnover, but again, that would depend on the brand and its average retention rate.

I think it depends, it's seasonsal so there's a lot of pressure to keep staffing levels right and have ongoing recruitment. It can be fun, esp if the role involves travel!

In my experience, our role is pretty similar regardless of what industry we're in. Sure, there are some small caveats from vertical to vertical, but ultimately we're here to serve as liason for our employees no matter what product our company sells.

Does anyone have the 2020 SHRM books for sale or to borrow? My job won’t contribute towards my certification. I’ve already paid for my test. I have the books from 2015 but I’d like to study from the 2020. I tried finding them online to purchase but sellers of affordable books aren’t responding.
