i have no debt, match my company’s 401k, maxed roth IRA, have 6 months expenses in HYS account, and have been buying stocks on my own for the rest. Anything else i should consider before the stage of buying stocks/funds on my own? Don’t plan on making out 401k just yet because I need some income in ~10 years to help my parents retire.

Great job. Agree with the above to max HSA if eligible.

I think the next step is to start thinking about your mid and long term goals and "prepay" some of those expenses. If kids consider 529. Otherwise some common expensive costs are wedding, new/upgraded house, cars, vacations, medical costs, etc or in your case having some cash available to support parents if needed.

Some find it helpful to start contributing to funds for several of those in a HYSA, some even having a separate account for each. If longer term perfectly fine to invest it.

"Prepay" meaning save for as laid out in my last paragraph.

I believe for Deloitte you adjust the contribution during the open enrollment period

You need to max out 401k up to federal limit. There’s no question that this is a must. Your future sell will thank you. Live at home with parents and help out with mortgage by paying small rent if you can. Save for a home/condo and buy once market drops a bit. The path to “rich” is simple but you have to do the work and make the sacrifices.

Where does one go from here? Thanks in advance for any and all answers!

I have a 25K loan from my MBA. I paid off 100k whole, after graduation. 3 years ago, I moved my loan from federal to private ( SOFI) account. I recently lost my job. I have applied for unemployment, as the severance that I received will only cover for 2 months. Together my husband and I used to make less than 250k after tax. Now, with a loss of pay , we are going to make less. Do you think I will be eligible for Loan forgiveness?

Anyone else kind of bored clerking? I liked law school and thought I liked research and writing, but so far this district court clerkship has been pretty boring—lots of state law issues that are poorly briefed. Though to be fair, most of my time has been spent on one big case that I’m 99% sure is going to settle but not until the eve of trial bc that’s plaintiff’s counsel’s m.o.; so my work resolving the insane number of SJ and Daubert motions seems like a waste of my time.

Can anyone recommend an app or software for tracking billable hours to make it easier to put together and submit timesheets? I work for a small firm and all of our billing/invoicing is done manually. Every couple of weeks I go through my notes to type up my timesheets and I’m wondering if there’s an app that can record my time as I work and then put that all together categorized by client to submit for invoicing. I don’t need to note how much a particular client pays per hour.
