I have no time to cook for myself. Does anyone do meal delivery / has hired a private chef service / insight into better meal prep? I'm ready to do anything as I'm focused on getting healthier.

I used to get freshly and it was nice. It’s refrigerated meals delivered weekly.

Focus on learning meals that take 20min or less to make.

Tips:
- Think modular. What can be substituted between meals to lend variety? E.g. chicken breast can be used in stir fry, pasta, Mexican, etc. Bell peppers can be baked, fried, added to pasta or soups, etc.
- Buy ready made sauces or sauce bases like pasta sauce, mole (just add water), oyster sauce, etc.
- Buy convenience appliances (set and forget): rice maker, electric kettle, waffle maker, etc.
- Plan ahead. This applies to shopping, wknd meal prep, and smart refrigeration. Examples of smart refrigeration: grilling multiple chicken breasts and saving some for the next day, making extra pancake mix and storing there rest in a squeeze bottle for pancakes or waffles later in the week, etc.

Hungryroot not a bad option. It’s a nice in between - the meals aren’t 100% prepared, but everything is pre-measured and ready to be put together. Most dishes include some kind of carb, a veggie, a meat, and a sauce. “Semi homemade” meal in ab 10min. You can also throw in grocery items into your box so it’s helpful on busy weeks!! Lots of options so you can pick healthier meals. I did lots of bowls and salads when I was ordering. Can send a code for $20 off or something like that.

I’ve heard good things about fitness kitchen.

I got sunbasket for about a year. 3 recipes- 6 meals/wk was around $11/serving. And the meals could be stretched . I liked it but eventually got tired of it. It would take about 30-45 minutes to put together a very tasty healthy meal, I thought better than restaurant quality.
The benefit is not wasting food, got me into a cooking habit, and nice variety. If you find yourself ordering in, this is a better option on many levels

I recently joined company A on an H1b. Because of the immigration team's mistakes, we had to re-file and it took almost 4months for me to join from the date of the offer. As this was getting dragged on, I interviewed at two companies (let's call them Company B and C). After I started at company A, I received offers from both of them with 30% more TC. If I accept one of these offers, that H1b transfer will take another 2months. Will resigning from A burn the bridges? How should I handle this?

Hey, everyone! Hoping someone may have a lead for a free online database for training approvals and registrations? It doesn’t need to be fancy! I’m in a new role in the public sector and am trying to move them out of Outlook and Excel messiness for training registrations. I’m just looking to streamline and centralize the process. (We don’t have SharePoint or any centralized database.) Thanks in advance!

For anyone that moved to the US a bit later in life (early 30s), do you feel like you are financially behind retirement now by United States standards?

My home country offers free health care, education, affordable living etc and now i’m in the US the only way I think I’ll ever catch up for retirement is by making Partner salary one day but still living like I’m on a Manager salary to save.

Plus on a visa we cannot have other income. This is going to be a long game of catch up.

How many of you have a "side hustle" in addition to your full-time job? I.e. consulting, writing, designing, etc. I'm curious how much more income it brings you annually and if you think it's worth it in relation to the extra time you'd have if you weren't doing it? I'm trying to weigh the pros and cons of taking on a consulting gig that would be 7-10 hours a week, and about $22-25k a year, paid out on a monthly retainer.

I graduated with my MBA in finance in 2020 and began working at a bank as a Management Trainee. 2 years later, I am an assistant to a financial advisor studying to become a financial advisor. However, I have to do this on MY time and not the bank's.
I am not in a Management position, I make as much as a teacher in a good district and I just don't feel my overall self worth at this job. Does anyone have any advice that can help this situation?

Hi! I’m moving to LA from Chicago, base 90k - no debt. I live in a 1BD rn and have been browsing the market in LA to get an idea of rent. I’m mainly looking west of DTLA (ktown, la brea, pico rob, etc)it’s seeming like a 1BD may be out of reach. I’m not looking to pay more than $1800/mo. Any suggestions on neighborhoods I should consider? I’d like to be near grocery, restaurants, and would need parking. I enjoy being outdoors and would look to go on hikes/runs in my free time if that helps. TIA!

26M, recently got a job in Beverly Hills. Currently living in OC and enjoy snowboarding, hitting the beach sometimes during summer, and boxing. I’m also POC so I’d feel too out of place in Santa Monica. What other neighborhoods would be good for me? Walkability is a plus but ideally I’d be in a diverse neighborhood with nightlife like Highland Park and within 30-40 minutes of work in traffic.
