I have no time to cook for myself. Does anyone do meal delivery / has hired a private chef service / insight into better meal prep? I'm ready to do anything as I'm focused on getting healthier.

I used to get freshly and it was nice. It’s refrigerated meals delivered weekly.

Focus on learning meals that take 20min or less to make.

Tips:
- Think modular. What can be substituted between meals to lend variety? E.g. chicken breast can be used in stir fry, pasta, Mexican, etc. Bell peppers can be baked, fried, added to pasta or soups, etc.
- Buy ready made sauces or sauce bases like pasta sauce, mole (just add water), oyster sauce, etc.
- Buy convenience appliances (set and forget): rice maker, electric kettle, waffle maker, etc.
- Plan ahead. This applies to shopping, wknd meal prep, and smart refrigeration. Examples of smart refrigeration: grilling multiple chicken breasts and saving some for the next day, making extra pancake mix and storing there rest in a squeeze bottle for pancakes or waffles later in the week, etc.

Hungryroot not a bad option. It’s a nice in between - the meals aren’t 100% prepared, but everything is pre-measured and ready to be put together. Most dishes include some kind of carb, a veggie, a meat, and a sauce. “Semi homemade” meal in ab 10min. You can also throw in grocery items into your box so it’s helpful on busy weeks!! Lots of options so you can pick healthier meals. I did lots of bowls and salads when I was ordering. Can send a code for $20 off or something like that.

I’ve heard good things about fitness kitchen.

I got sunbasket for about a year. 3 recipes- 6 meals/wk was around $11/serving. And the meals could be stretched . I liked it but eventually got tired of it. It would take about 30-45 minutes to put together a very tasty healthy meal, I thought better than restaurant quality.
The benefit is not wasting food, got me into a cooking habit, and nice variety. If you find yourself ordering in, this is a better option on many levels

Recovered from Covid and luckily had mild symptoms overall. One symptom that started part way through & is still lingering is severe dry mouth at night. It's bad enough that it interrupts sleep. I stay hydrated, use a special mouth rinse & a humidifier, etc. But the dry mouth is still bad. I wake up every hour with a dry pasty feeling & have trouble swallowing. Dr doesn't have any new ideas. Taking a shot someone on here went through similar (or knows someone who did) and found a solution. TY

Last week my dog was officially diagnosed with cancer. She’s going to be 13, the cancer isn’t curable. She’s my first dog. I’m coming off of my own medical issues, I’ve always considered myself a strong person but I feel this is going to break me. I’m not handling it well and people who I’ve considered closest to me have let me down by not being there the way I’ve been there for them when they’ve needed the support in the past. I honestly don’t know how to navigate through this.

I recently left my job and I have a month gap in health insurance coverage with my new employer. My COBRA cost for my wife and I will be over $1,000 for 1 month. We’ve had the high deductible plan at my previous employer and really only go for annual check ups. Is there anything else on the market that could be cheaper for just 1 month?

I started working for a company a few months ago and my working hours have been crazy. It has now gotten to a point where it takes a serious toll on my mental and physical health. I’m constantly expected to pull 50-hour weeks but I feel like even this isn’t enough. I’m under constant stress. Tried to flag to my manager a few times that my workload has been unbearable but I always get a hard push back. Should I jump ship and quit? Has anyone been in the same situation and has some good advice?

I had my 1 to 1 with my boss on Monday, at which time I brought up the fact that I felt like I was operating above my role of Marketing Assistant and said I felt that I was doing tasks that fell in line of Marketing Manager. After an honest conversation, he said that I fit more with Marketing Associate. He said he'd like me to learn more strategic thinking and leadership skills and recommended I get involved with a local business organization. Any recommendations?

Has anyone done earthquake retrofitting for a house NEWER than 1980? I know it’s a must-do for houses OLDER than 1980. But my house was built in 1988, so it’s not required.

Several contractors provided estimates, in the $40k-$50k range, which seems like a lot of $$$.

Apparently our house has bolts but not enough and not the right kind, plus it needs joist blocking and shear paneling. All to meet codes put in place after our house was built.

Just curious if others have done this.
