How to negotiate salary when you’ve given them a range? I recently panicked and told the recruiter my expected range. If I get to the offer stage, I assume they will offer me the lower end of my range and of course I don’t want to sound ungrateful or greedy, but is there a way to negotiate to a little higher?
Btw I would be fine with the lower end of my range if offered, I’m just curious because I gave a range and not a hard number, is there a way to negotiate?
job security is better in citi as compared to HSBC
Pro
Hsbs a big no
Any specific reason for no to hsbc
Wlb is better in hsbc i have worked with hsbc for 5 yrs
For citi appraisal is good than hsbc but no . Choose accordingly
Its good. Appraisals are average. Wlb is also good
What role and tech or domain will help in deciding
I would go with HSBC then. You are a Java Full Stack person, so you should be inclined towards consultant analyst role. AVP in Citi is a designation but the functional role should be different. Unless there’s very strong reason to join Citi.
WLB and bonus is better in HSBC when compared to Citi as far as I know...
Citi because u get better ppl with better env.But yes If HSBC is paying more then u can choose
Wlb is better in HSBC, I have cousins both in Citi and HSBC
HSBC is better in wlb, Citi sucks and tech stack at Citi is also old so go for hsbc
Go to HSBC it offers better wlb. If you are lucky you can get an on-site offer as well
Citi
Any specific reason have you worked in any of these.
Never ever join Citi. Now there is no Job security in Citi as well. Thousands of employees got laid off recently at all the levels across global including Pune. There are 13K more to be laid off by 2026. WLB sucks in Citi across 99% BUs. I don't know anything about HSBC though but it will be better than Citi for sure based on the current situation.
