Easy. Get on a train to Vienna for some old world golden splendor, then another train to Budapest for some extraordinary history, some splendor of its own, and one hell of a party
I just went to Innsbruck/Vienna/Bratislava/Budapest/Dubrovnik (Croatia) two months ago! So looking for something a bit different now
Visit Dachau before leaving Munich. You could then train to Strasbourg and/or Colmar and visit some wonderful towns dotted throughout Alsace Lorraine. You could do wine tasting in Burgundy. Paris can easily be reached by train too. If you want to keep partying head east to Prague. Fly to Lisbon. If you want to stay in Germany head up to Berlin then over to Hamburg. Go to Belgium and keep the beer theme going.
Southern Germany is right in the middle of Europe so it’s easy to get anywhere. Munich is a major hub airport, and Germany has a fairly comprehensive high speed rail system.
I would say Prague and then if you want to keep going, Krakow and Warsaw are a lot of fun too
Which week are you doing Oktoberfest? I’ll be there as well
