A friend at UBS just got a raise. Is it normal to get mid year raise like this at UBS? It came as a total surprise to this friend.

I have been in management for the past 8 years and part of large corporations. I just recently joined a small organization that I have wanted to be a part of for the past 2 years, accepted the role of general manager. This organization knew that I don’t have general manager experience, no payroll experience, no experience setting prices, no purchasing experience and today, 6 days after starting, I have been asked to step down due to not being confident that I will be ready in 3 weeks…
So I'm interviewing, have had loose salary conversation (talked about band but not specifics), and approaching the official offer stage. It's become clear the role is something I'm very well qualified for, but their pay expectations for the role are much lower than mine. How do I ask if I could be considered for a higher level position in the team in a higher salary band instead?
Hi guys, I have got an offer from Verizon. Role: MTS-3. Package: 21Lakhs (Fixed) + 12% Variable pay + 45 days of monthly salary as relocation expense + 50,000 joining bonus. YOE: 5.6 Years. Does the package look fine or shall I negotiate further?
Hi, So i joined LTI after being offered 8 LPA for 2 years experience. A friend of mine who is joining after me and has the same experience and for the same position is getting 9.5 LPA. Can I renegotiate my salary or the ship has sailed?
I'll switch to a startup as the only data engineer and will closely work with all the Head ofs + the CTO.
Any advice/books/... on stakeholder management at that level? Especially when things fail/discussing budgets/new hires etc.
In honor of Equal Pay Day, post your age, salary, city, and gender. It will be interesting to have a list.
Hi, I am looking for opportunity in .net, c#. Yoe 10+ years. Please let me know if any openings?
Based out of SF and noticing resource management opportunities are hard to find here - and if there’s openings, they want you to have 10+ years before you’re considered for a Silicon Valley tech giant. Anyone else notice that?
Hi All, I fell victim to the recent tech layoffs in July when our startup had its funding pulled mid-series B. I was let go without severance and am starting to panic because sending out resumes in this job market feels like screaming into the void. Do any of you have any hiring leads for mid/senior level marketing communications positions? For reference, my last role was Director of Comms at a consumer health tech brand, 12 yoe total (+6 PR agency) tc $160k.
Hello account 🐠! Anyone willing to share their resume/linkedin or have some advice? I am looking to update with my most recent role and wanted to see how others are describing the AD role. Do you focus on project $$? Number of clients? Hard for me to sum up successes in succinct bullet points.
I got selected in WIPRO and today I got to know they are offering me SAP Successfactor Learning-Lead position.
I am a SAP ABAP on HANA consultant and my interview was also based on my area of expertise only not on Success factor.
Does any one here know about this position in WIPRO. If yes kindly share.
I think they will be giving me Band B3 (correct if my understanding is wrong). My HR round is tomorrow. What is the expected CTC for this band.
YOE - 6.7 yrs
Any thoughts on salary range for Senior level (15+ years of experience) P&C E&S underwriting in Arizona? I’ve put some feelers out, but the salary ranges I am seeing seem low.
I would like to pivot from Engineering Manager role to Pre Sales or Sales Engineering positions in Telecom. I have more than 16 years of experience in Infrastructure space with strong business n tech accumen in Unified communication, Contact Centers and Telecom. Looking for referrals or leads.
I need some words of wisdom from this esteemed bowl. I have been an associate for almost 2 years in civil litigation with my bread and butter being family and marital law. I have the drive and desire to operate a solo practice with an emphasis on family law as that is my most comfortable area. I've been loved by all my clients and believe I have the charisma to attract new ones. It's not a matter of if I'll go solo but when. Any advice and/or potential pitfalls of going solo so soon?
Best strategy for the Gulag? I need help here.
What’s the pass rate for Workday exams, especially for ones you might do as your first certification (HCM, Finance, Adaptive, etc)? I know the pass score is normally 70, but what percent of people pass on the first try? How common is it to redo a course/exam? I’m starting my first course tomorrow and I’m just a little bit terrified.
I'm so happy basketball is back. It actually hasn't been that weird watching the live games.
Are y'all ready for your powers?
I was recently promoted, and now part of my team report to me. I'm now able to see their pay rates and I am honestly so disappointed in the company. Especially since we just gave annual raises in Feb, plus we can all see where the money is going and it's not to the employees. Makes me sick
I got the 1st, 25th and 26th picks, what do you guys think about trading my 25 and 26 for another top 5 pick?
Any of you regularly work with email campaigns and newsletters through Salesforce Cloud? I’d love to pick your brain about A/B testing if you can spare an hour of your time. I’ll even pay for a virtual coffee! Let’s connect.
Hi fellow fishbowl peeps! This one is for folks who are or have been @Accenture in SM in sales capture role. Would you please help me understand a day in life for this role as well as Growth or exit opportunities? How long does it take to get promoted if you work hard and show results… How about diversity and culture? Thanks in advance for helping a fella!
Moving from owning independent SFH to a multi family. The one I am reviewing was built in 1960s and recently renovated. Anyone have experience with these older buildings and can share their experience. My current properties are all built in 1990 and after so a bit nervous about what sort of problems I could encounter with an older build
Long drive tomorrow. Does anyone know of any on demand CFP continue education courses out there? I’d love to knock out 15 hrs of CE on this drive, if able. 🤦♂️🔫🤢
Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Not a question but very discouraged. I asked for a 20% raise and they came back with “ and all of my years at (won’t disclose yet) I have never seen a 20% increase approved”. I’m thinking well can you ask for fuck sake… ugh so over this.
I see a lot of posts from people who are being put forward for interviews and comment on this forum about having concerns about whether what they are looking for will be achievable. My view is that salary should be discussed upfront and before 1st interview and expectations set so that the client and the candidate understand in advance each others expectations and that both can be met. I’m interested if their are thoughts on why you wouldn’t nail this down in advance. It guarantees no wasted time
Any insight on *updated* salary range for a marketing program manager or a marketing manager? Please include location. (For reference, I’m in the Bay Area)
I have a review coming up… I have been doing my research about Salaries and my current role. I have found that I am actually being severely underpaid. What is the best way to approach this with my manager and how to ask for more money without being rude?
Have an offer for a marketing associate role at a large financial services company. Is there anything I can negotiate besides salary and bonus? Vacation, work policies, etc. seem to be set in stone. Not sure what else might be on the table that’s worth asking about?
I started a job in August and I was as told I get a salary review at the year end. I know I’m being underpaid and I want to ask for a raise. I’m a new attorney and my salary is $65k. I want $80k but is that too high of a jump??
I’m on a 6-month extendable contract and my manager really likes me; she always says that they want to convert me ASAP, however they don’t have the budget right now to hire me. They plan to hire me by the end of the year (7-month mark) but that means I won’t get paid for 3 days during thanksgiving and a whole week during December. How can I push for them to make me permanent as soon as possible? This is my first job out of college so I’m not sure how to approach this situation.
What's the average annual compensation for a software engineer with 11 years experience in Java & AWS in UK?
Hey y’all, as an HR Analyst with 7 months of moderate experience. How much is my experience worth? I live in WA.
I just recently promoted to HR assistant manager. I have my PHR and working towards my SPHR. I am the lowest paid employee in the depth. We have a senior specialist and a general specialist both make more than I do. They have been employed longer with the company. What is your advice on this issue?
Accepted job offer with higher salary, but after cost of living adjustment it’s turning out to not be a raise…struggling with this now. How bad would it be to rescind my acceptance?
Hi everyone! Does anybody know the salary range for the L9 Product owner at Accenture in Toronto, Canada?
Recently found out from market research for my level in my industry that I'm VASTLY underpaid vs the market BUT employees at the same level in countries in Europe where our HQ is and where half my team live are even paid much less than me (converting to USD). So do I push for fair market compensation for US or will that make me first target for layoffs and look replaceable to higher ups than rest of my team so not worth the risk?
My advantage over others is close to clients and fluent English.
I received an offer for an account execute position at a SaaS org. Base 110 k commission 110 k. 60 k rsu over a 4 year vesting period. I get 15 k rsu after my one year anniversary. There is a non recoverable draw months 1-3 at 75% commissions months 3-6 50% commissions. This position is non exempt as well. I feel this offer is low for. Any tips on a counter?
Curious what Salaries are for Account Managers with 6 YOE and two different territories for the last four of those 6 years. No commission/bonuses ever given and no promotions since I took the position 6 years ago despite speaking up several times. COL raises at 1.5% and I now make 70k but at the top of my pay range. I’m starting to look for other jobs now because I’m fed up with having two territories without a raise for the extra work. I feel I should have been promoted to Senior AM long ago.
Got an offer letter for a new job, but it's $10 less than what I make currently. What can I ask for in a benefits/sign on package to compensate for the drastic wage difference?
Hey there, anyone who’s ever worked or currently create 30sec 1080p video content (reels/TikTok) has a ballpark of how much to charge for content creation and licensing of such? Big international company, has their products at Lowe’s close to entrance nationwide.. they have the budget I just haven’t done much video creation yet and I’m on board creating photo content for them already.
Got an offer. Would like negotiate a hire base pay. Do I do that with the recruiter or hiring manager? And can it be done over email or should I schedule a call to chat about it?
Job base salary presented by HR during screening interview was $130-$145k. I have 3-5 years more experience and more education compared to the posting requirements (BA required, I have a MS). I love the position and what it entails, but was hoping to reach $150-$160 base salary. If offered the position, is this a reasonable ask? This is for big pharma, data analytics in New England.
I have my Bachelors & I accepted a job at a starter up healthcare tech company which is growing. When I accepted the position and salary I honestly didn’t know what to expect or how to negotiate a salary pay. I accepted the job and salary because it was more than my old job and I needed to get my foot in the door. I’ve been here for 3 months and I have found out I am getting underpaid than what other project coordinators are getting paid. 10k less than them. How should I ask for a salary adjust
