If you can tolerate CV for 2 years and they are equivalent levels, go CV. If the GH position is higher, go for it.
As someone who works at ClearView — I’d recommend ClearView, though I don’t know anything about Guidehouse. WLB is bad but you will learn a ton and it’s more prestigious in the boutique space. If you are only gonna be here for 2 years, you are probably thinking of prioritizing learning and then making an exit. WLB improvements are also pretty high on ClearView leaderships’ radars rn. Another thing I can recommend is maybe you negotiate with ClearView for a C position.
Yeah so why torture yourself in the name of prestige? Seems like a ploy by recruiting so undergrads can flex on each other senior year.
CV is viewed as better name in LS boutique space, but anecdotally I’ve head it’s become a sweat shop after being bought out by their new PE overlords
SA at clearview is 1 promotion above undergrad entry (so typically 1-2 YOE). Not sure how that stacks up vs GH's levels. Happy to talk about my experience here if helpful
I should also say - 2 years puts you probably at the C to SC level (EM technically feasible but that rate of promotions is incredibly rare). You can look on LinkedIn to see what level exits are from those roles at clearview
It is my understanding that SC at Guidehouse is ~2-3 YOE whereas SA at CV is ~1-2 YOE.
Ultimately, I think the decision should be made regardless of title - these vary across most every LS/boutique firm. You’ll need to weigh pros and cons of each firm in terms of TC, prestige, WLB, and culture.
To answer your second question, I’d say CV since its much more prestigious. That also assumes you are willing and able to tolerate the work environment that other fishes have thoroughly documented in the LS bowl.
Dibs on whichever one OP doesn't want!
