You should have taken the offer letter, resigned from current company and leverage that to get better offer imo
I think you should have took the offer and resign from your present organization. Either you will get better offer from other org during notice period or your current org will give better offer. In my case both worked out. Now don't overthink and stress your self as it is not the end. You can continue your job search, you will get better offer. All the best!
Is low offer the only reason for refusing the offer? Because it was still more than what you have currently. Market standards are not very well defined and if it was that low you should have taken up the offer and kept looking for a better one. Do not reject offers based on just that. Anyways try to think in more dimensions other than just money. Best of luck.
You should take it and could negotiate later. However, it's life move on. Don't worry.
Don't worry it is not the be all end all. Next time you can negotiate, or you will get a better offer that's closer to market standard.
Dont stress yourself too much on this as its not the end of the world, you'll get other offers before you know it. Take it as a part of learning and in future you should accept and keep the offer in hand and try to shop a few more and then re-negotiate.
All the best buddy!
