Here’s a very pointed thread on transforming transportation and how a Tesla may actually be a hindrance to the effort. I’m not convinced in hydrogen’s long term viability, but can see its merits in some defined use cases. But this thread shows the nuance, trade offs, and quickly emerging entrenched interests in the ET.
What’s your process?

Yeah, my parent's marriage stressing me out!
I think we can all relate.

EY is less mature in the consulting business hence an M at Deloitte usually has similar skillset with what an EY homegrown SM will have acquired over the years. The same applies to all other levels.

Its quite expected most of the times, how often we see people making a horizontal move?
Having worked at both places, EY designations (in consulting roles) are much more ‘chopped’ than Deloitte. Simply put Deloitte M has same or (in some instance) higher responsibilities than a EY SM. So it is very easy to hire a Deloitte M at SM level in EY.
For context, EY Consulting SM is chopped into 2 - SM1 and SM3 (SM3 is also Director) and the next level up is Executive director or Associate Partner and then Partner.
Watch out, they will come for you - I got in a big argument a few weeks ago for saying this 😂
Currently in this position myself - but I’m still weighing it up. The financial offer is in line with SM at D but one worry I have is the type of projects they win.
If it’s M level work badged as SM with the addional pay, it makes for a very compelling offer in the short term atleast.
Haha no worries C1 - it happens to all of us sometimes!
I’m an SC at Deloitte and had an offer for M at EY but decided to turn it down. M grade at EY ranges from 60-80k so unless you can negotiate a decent salary bump it wasn’t worth it for me. EY however do seem to be growing their consulting work but end of the day it’s what is right for you and how far you are into your journey at your current grade.
Not in FS consulting it’s not and not including the added benefits allowance
So what is the SM (or equivalent in D) salary range in Deloitte?
SM bands start at £83/84k - but due to increase in line with recent announcements.
I did the reverse move and my title was downgraded, got a big pay bump though
From what I have understood .. EY manager and deloitte manager have salary bands that range from 68 to 75.
EY salaries are more or less in line with deloitte even though deloitte M has more responsibilities than EY M ..
Can you elaborate on the different responsibilities in each company?
Recent Deloitte M that has gone over to EYP at a M grade.
DM for details if you’d like but overall: EYP practice is growing substantially in FS over Deloitte and there are some discrepancies between for roles/responsibilities but would say EY expects more targeted knowledge in your practice area over Deloitte which demands PM skills at a M grade over subject matter expertise.
