All on red. Double or nothing. You said you don't mind taking risk, right?
Dude forget most of this advice. Invest heavily in the s&p500 ETF. Vanguard has the lowest expense ratios (it's either VOO or VO). Check out bogleheads on how to build simple, low-cost ETF portfolios.
Send me your cash, I'll triple it in 2 months
70k is actually enough for the downpayment for a studio in a pre-war.
Most sophisticated strategies really only outperform with scale due to expenses. I'd just echo the others and throw it in an ETF. The small cap ones in my portfolio have been rocking lately, but I'm going to rebalance and possibly even lower my allocations towards them given their upside has at least in some material part been realized
buy a franchise and get your shit little sibling or cousin to run it and pay them slightly better than minimum wage
Buy property out of town and rent it out. Always worth having property because if shit hits the fan you can always live in it.
Jp1 is an asshole. Buy some stocks write some calls against it. Sounds like you are youngish and a downside move in equities isn't your worst nightmare. If you are scared of a downside move you can take your premium from selling calls and buy puts (a collar). Just know that puts are relatively more expensive than calls.
There was another post with 70k in excess savings a few days back. Both of you seem to have a good handle on things and should try starting a business. Get out before you go down too far down the rabbit hole. You can thank me later
@db1 I'm at DB so u tell me if compliance will sign off
All solid ideas. Prosper/Lending Club is legit if you trust those companies and your compliance department will sign off. Take on as much risk as you're comfortable with.
Private placement investments, just search them on BANW
Jpm2. That's not inconsistent with my advice. Spy is most liquid and has tons of option choices.
Lol, yeah they should if you explain it has no market exposure and the loans aren't actively traded (3-5 yr horizon per loan).
Anyone else heard of or used wealthfront? How does it compare to other more established WMs?
Unless you are a millionaire who also needs dog walking and baby sitting services, 2 of the robo advisors are compared here.https://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/investing/wealthfront-vs-betterment/
Also I live in NYC so property isn't an option cuz 70k wouldn't get me anything here really

Depends on your time horizon and other factors, but a diversified ETF portfolio is probably best.
Three options - 1) become and angel investor - checkout AngelList and Crunchbase. 2) buy a condo in a warm place and rent it out - snow birds pay big in the winter. 3) Wealthfront.com
