Here’s the reality. You may have some very clever and/or funny lines and writing. You obviously got hired. But random witty lines with no strategy behind them only go so far. If you want to move up, the people hiring want to see smart ideas, not just lines. Otherwise agencies (and you and me) would just have websites with lists of lines for clients to scroll through. They want to see creative solutions to business problems. That’s what agencies are hired for. Once you have the business thinking down, your list of lines may or may not apply. Think bigger than retrofitting one shot lines to random products. This will develop your thinking as a creative. You’ll go further.

You can comp them up yourself. That's how I got back into advertising from a career switch, then into a different sectors of advertising. Be proactive. Learn Photoshop and Indesign. Not that your efforts will necessarily be as good as a good AD, but they're not hiring you for that. And think bigger. Make it experiential. I found most interviewers appreciate initiative (helped that my previous gig was in a non profiting for-profit startup permanently in startup mode where I had to do everything. Amazed me when I went for jobs and was told "this is the email dept, this is the social media dept, this is the creative dept...). Think like a business owner. That's who we ultimately do "ads" for.
