No problems brother.. I selected one such candidate just a few days ago. He was selected for one simple reason, he was technically sound. To be honest listening to answers from him required some patience but his answers were worth the wait.. 😀

A good interviewer will look at your skillset and knowledge and role & culture fit. So please don’t let your stammering affect you. In fact you can mention it in your introduction and create a positive story of how you have worked despite these challenges :) and by that the interviewer will have a clear expectation and won’t be bothered by your stammering. All the best OP! Everyone has their own set of challenges in life, hope you make it big :)

Hi, Let me tell you my own story.. I have stammering problem that I can say 15-20% of words I need to speak twice or with stammering.. I am in consulting stream and facing clients daily.. I worked Infosys as a fresher. Then switched to Accenture., currently working for Deloitte.. in all the interviews I will set the platform or expectation to interviewer that I have this problem.. so the interviewer will concentrate only on our technical skills.. other wise interviewer will think you are answering in hurry or you are feeling nervous which may impact our result.. also explain him how you are overcoming your problem in your day to day talks with business / clients/ colleagues.. that's it.. have confidence in you and be strong in your technology.. all the best 👍

There is an organisation called TISA - 'The Indian Stammering Association' full of +ve people who work hard on their speech. They have a presence in most cities. And even meet on a weekly basis to pratice their speech techniques. They call each other on the phone to help build confidence and desensitize your mind towards that letter/block. It's free of cost. I know you must have tried everything. What's one more thing right? I really hope you join them. I am a member too. You can DM me for details/help. Cheers

Hey, Hope you are going well 😊 We are always stronger than we think, and never think that it's flaw... My personal experience, I am sharing, my father was completely blind. I have grown up seeing him build a huge business as businessman in my hometown.. never took his blindness as his weakness.. He always Pushed himself to learn something new, his other senses were so sharp, as a his daughter, never felt my father was actually blind. I am not just boasting because he is my father, in reality I take him as my life's role model and lot of other ppl do take him as same around me. Most important trust the ppl around you, be open and proud about your stammering issue, you can do it buddy! More power and energy to you.. go start attending the interviews, crack them. All the very best for your future 🎉🎉😊😊

You shouldn’t feel low, I myself have come across candidates who Stammer and most of the recruiters never want to be biased because someone is stammering. All that matters is how good are you in your field. Please DM me. I have a position where I can refer you.

like

Hi can any one please refer me I have 2.7 y exp in java and spring boot tech .Its very helpful if any one refer .Don't feel negative about stammering problem keep on going.

Hi buddy, I also had stammering problem and it was since childhood, but I used to practice reading on the particular words and used to read newspapers with proper pauses and focus on the letter where I used to stammer. My best inspiration at that time was Kings Speech movie which really inspired me to take a step and work on myself despite ppl mocking and making fun of me. It took me years to get from not pronouncing my name correctly to participate in debates and then giving presentations in my classes to conducting client interviews and presenting to partners. Just have patience and work upon yourself, handwork always pays off❣️

Let your skills speak. If someone doesn't select just because you stammer, you shouldn't be a part of them anyway.

Good to see people supporting like this. Just one input .. keep applying for core tech companies with open culture. They dont care much about communication, its only tech skill that will drive ur success.

First thing no one is perfect in this world and don't let your problem to be a blocker in any aspect of your life. I having a very poor handwriting which is hardly readable by anyone due to which I used to hesitate to use blackboard or appearing for pen paper test now I used to set the expectation by telling up front about this problem.

Hi very honest of you to share this details. So first of all this is not any point you should feel low, everyone has problems, me itself has some health issue, will not discuss it here but will give you some suggestion, try to concentrate on your strong areas so if you are in technical side generally people can speak up during interview about them, so for you make your resume that speaks of your work. Then for technical expertise try to complete some certification this will give interviewer an insight even if you fail to explain during interview, then mug up atleast your introduction because this where half interview is done. Why I am telling you to mug up is because normally those who dont stammer will make one Ammmm or Ummmm!! But yours will be more because of stammering so try this write down your intro and learn. Remember dont think your disability is making you work more hard to achieve little which others dont have to think so, instead think of the focus and dedication you will achieve in doing and getting this, I am sure this dedication once you grab the job will continue and make difference while you work with those who dont have this disability. Good luck 👍

You just need to b3 technical sound. Not every developer need lots of communication. Your code should speak more than you. Simple.

Stammering DOESN'T DEFINE YOU. Your work and the kind of person you are defines you. I had an accident when I was an undergrad and sometimes I felt uncomfortable during presentation infront of managers where I had to stand and show the slides with my hand in projector screen. I know these are 2 different things but it's about confidence. Don't let it define you!

My friend has it n is TL in tcs now serving at client location. During we worked together, he took pauses n slowly communicated the details with client. Don't get disheartened, if u can properly communicate things without confusion it does not matter.

Don't Worry ... People are helpful everywhere just be confident of your knowledge and have a good behaviour ... You will get selected ...Best wishes....Even Hrithik Roshan has this problem you can overcome it by practicing.

Isnt it weird that they dont pay you a bonus after 10 years at the firm because you are serving your notice. I think its unreasonable to work for the whole year in question, be on the payroll when the bonus is paid out, contribute signifanct revenue to the team and still get paid nothing because its 'discretionary' once you tell them you are leaving.
