Currently interviewing with Facebook (Meta) and looking for advice from other Technical Recruiters that recently joined. I’d be leaving a great company after less than 1 year, but I’d get the chance to upgrade my leveling (perhaps even mgmt) with the bonus of getting experience at a FAANG company. Is saas sales stressful?
Which company would you join?
I currently work in Sales with the intention of moving over to marketing in the near future. I received two offers for BDR/SDR roles from Sprout Social and Gong. Both salaries are around the same (Gong - base 63k + anticipated $25k in commission, Sprout - 55k base + anticipated $25k in commission).
I like both companies’ software and it extremely hard to decide which position will get me into marketing faster as it is not a traditional BDR path to take.

New to Fishbowl?

I had to take one for my very first SDR role, haven’t had to since. The company was respected and a good place to work.
And the company I was at eventually stopped testing out new hires as they felt it was unnecessary.
Like the post above I only did one of them. The next interview I was asked why did I skip x question and why did you spend x time on this question. More.than anything I didn't get a pass or fail type of questioning more so how you process information with a given time restraint.
I don't really like these aptitude tests for reasons that date back to the Jim Crow days but unfortunately, this is needed to sift through applicants. Similar to Leetcode in coding, you have to have a benchmark of some sort.
I would understand a technical test or assessment of skills such as a programming language for a developer/engineer.
I wouldn't put too much stock into it (or not being able to see the results). In my experience, it's really just a measure to weed out crazies. As long as you're benchmarking within the "normal" range, it shouldn't have any impact on your ability to make it to the next round.
My past employer, an edu tech software company was acquired by a PE company. They have changed the hiring process and made it a requirement for candidates to take a CCAT test. The passing score was 30 to be considered for an interview. This PE company (like any other) are notorious for cutting costs, slashing benefits, thus hiring college grad for less pay versus employee retention or tenure. (In Europe, your employer need to share your results with you and you can also request to delete data from their database due to EU Privacy laws.) not sure about the states.
My company is hiring for SDR roles in austin if you’re looking to move. No bs test required, pre-ipo stock (ipo in next 6 months).
