Start a log of this shit in case you eventually need to go to HR or prove to your coach that you aren't at fault.

You could wait it out, this senior will quit within a year.

^You're probably right. And Thanks ey & pwc, I also might just leave the client

^Totally, it won't take long for managers to figure this one out. If you can prove you're good enough for the position, it could be yours. If you're an A1 in a market that is over capacity you're fucked

I had a Senior like that last year. She got more and more difficult and then a few months later - surprise! - she sent around the "goodbye its been great working here!" email. I celebrated that night 😉

like

He's unorganized, irresponsible, and worst of all, he doesn't take ownership of his work. Everything is my fault and my responsibility. He just forwards emails and task other people give him to me with no reasonable timelines or guidance. how should handle this?

it's your chance to see if you can perform at the senior level then

OP are you in PwC in the NE? Is the senior named Charlie?

Haha, his name isn't Charlie but I do hope he sees this post and shapes up

Serious question - is there a reverse FIRE strategy? I like the idea of saving and retiring early, but the one hiccup I see (and sorry if this is grim) is if you die earlier than expected. I’d be worried that I would minimize lifestyle and fun for retirement at 50 but I’d die at 49. How about a way to work 9 months out of the year and retire/travel/relax for 3 months? This way you guaranteed your dreams/etc. are fulfilled

I’m currently a tax accountant with 5 YOE. I want to move into a business analyst role I’ve applied for entry level positions (competition is wild) and willing to get certs. I have great hard and soft skills that should transfer pretty well. Any advice on getting the ball rolling? Should I get a mentor? I’ve seen a lot of layoffs too which kind of makes me wonder if it’s worth it.

Many are wondering what’s wrong with ClearView. The problem is straightforward, if the way ClearView is organizing a project such that when one analyst or senior analyst (22 to 24 year old) fails at something, stakes are high enough that an project’s fate depends on it, then ClearView is putting way too much responsibility on its Junior staff, not promoting and severely underpaying them. Maybe it’s time ClearView brought in a consulting firm to ease its org problems

Need some career advice because I’m at a standstill. Right now I’m the senior (only) internal auditor at a medium sized public hospital. I mostly do compliance audits and I want out. I’m a CPA but made every wrong career move, I went into an OIG straight out of college, never did public accounting. Now I think I have to before it’s truly too late, it may already be too late, not sure but I’m pushing 30, married and have a kid due in 4 months. What am I even qualified for? I need to make a change
