Hi all. I'm going to join deloitte India in a month. However, I'm getting opportunities from other MNCs too. Personally and professionally, I want to join Deloitte only but if I get an offer from other MNCs like TCS, LTI, etc. Can I go back to deloitte HR and request for a negotiation to match the 2nd offer. Will they consider? Since already an official offer letter has been generated and digitally approved by me for Deloitte. YOE: 3.8 Techstack: PowerBI Offered designation: Consultant.

Maybe unorthodox, but I try not to retain career “experts” or firms that offer solely expert services. I prefer my experts to be local and still practicing at whatever they do (doctor, CPA, etc.). I think those experts tend to be more credible and less likely to look like a hired gun willing to say whatever.
To find those, I simply look for specialists in areas related to the case that are currently practicing, and cold call and try to build a relationship. It takes longer than using an expert firm, but I think real practitioners resonate better with most juries than people who make a living off it. ESPECIALLY on the plaintiffs side, where a lot of the experts are recycled and say the same thing in every case.
Also professional organizations and associations are good places to start.
Does your firm have a Rolodex
Ok do you have access to Bloomberg Law - I recall a resource there from law school. Check cases and experts on Westlaw/ Lexis in jurisdiction with success.
Start w/in your firm, then the local defense/plaintiff bar will have a list, if those come back empty search for the best (insert area of expertise) and call to see if they’ll review the file. Always be sure to ask for a CV and fee schedule and start your own spreadsheet to make it easier going forward.
You can connect with them by looking up similar cases that have had similar circumstances. Also referrals from other firms as well. Once you get one, they tend to know each other and can recommend others as well. Hope that helps a little!
At my firm we’d start by asking for recommendations from our colleagues.
Universities are also a source.
We have a list we usually use. This may be an opportunity to create one.
Google
Local plaintiffs or defense bar
There are several services online that provide this. I think GLG has an expert witness service.
Westlaw experts is great.

For doctors, use the websites for the best health systems nationally or regionally and try to track them down and see if they will review the case.
If you can look up the judge and see what experts have been on their cases, what experts they have agreed with, that could be a good way to find a credible expert
What area of law?
Ask around your firm. Reach out to all of your professionally related networks. It sounds like you don’t have a go to list yet, so I’d definitely start one—and what a great resource to contribute to your firm.
- Referrals from other attorneys;
- Linked In;
- Ask other members of the ALA or Paralegal Associations in the area (if you are not a member, quickly become a member)
- legal media;
- Google experts for law cases there are websites that have legal expert lists
Westlaw is a good resource. Or you could go with a group such as the expert institute. They could help if you have no idea who to go with in a particular field.
