I have tried different methods of hanging posters on my classroom walls. My walls are painted drywall. over the summer my room just got painted I'm trying to hang things in a manner that won't pull off the paint. In the past I used fo am tape but it would pull off the paint when I removed posters. Does anyone have a go-to way of hanging posters on drywall?

I use the command strips. We have painted cider brick or dry wall and nothing would stick but command strips.

I use masking tape with glue stick glue on it to hang posters and art work in my classroom.

Do you eat at home, in your classroom, in the teacher's lounge or in the cafeteria?

Our room is actually a large conference room that is split into 2 rooms with wheeled divider walls. The walls are too hard to puncture with push pins, and no kind of tape sticks to it- but unfortunately that wall is the only space we have to put up bulletin boards and classroom calendar and etc. help! What can we do to get stuff to stay on the wall? Our room isn’t very inviting and parents arrive Friday for “Meet the Teacher”. Mainly posters, calendar area etc. Thanks!!

I work in a humid part of the country in a portable building. My classroom has mold in walls and cieling. They decided to finally tear down the entire building, but it's the middle of the school year!

Also wondering what curriculum is being used, if any, in your classrooms

How do you legally handle having your plan time taken for the 4th week in a row? Each day each week,, an announcement comes on saying it has been canceled and we have to keep our students. Union is not doing anything. We have such a shortage of teachers, our special, electives, encore, whatever you may call it have been put into classrooms because we are so short staffed. How can I legally fight for my time without union backing?

My daughter just attended a new teacher workshop at a ROE. A Superintendent presented (not hers) and told this room full of new teachers, “Real teachers get to school at 7:00 am and go home at 8:00 pm.” Really?? As a veteran teacher of 26 years, I was appalled! Makes sense why new teachers are leaving the classroom in their first five years and why we have a teacher shortage in Illinois with those type of expectations.

Sometimes I wonder if the anxiety and anticipation leading up to the school year is/will be worse than when we're actually in the classroom, doing our thing, day in and day out. I hope so!

So teachers have to go back to the classroom even though we are still remote. The justification is to "prepare for going f2f" but there's no date for that yet. Is the real reason because they don't trust us to do our jobs?

So I took a year off from teaching to pass the certification tests and have been working in higher ed, will it be easy for me getting back into the classroom, specifically K-2 classrooms?

The irony of International Women’s Day is a qualified female passed over for SpEd Director for a man who has never spent a single day in a SpEd classroom and has no SpEd certification.

I got a competitive job offer in San Diego and some of the people I’ve spoken to keep telling me to not go to California because “that place is a dumpster fire”. I’ve read things online about taxes and cost being very high but it doesn’t seem any different than a large east coast city (except the Bay Area). It’s the most populous state so clearly that hasn’t deterred 40 million people. But I don’t understand why people keep telling me it’s a bad idea?

I'm 20 and got an offer from a startup that is 80% but my last name happens to be the name of their company and they want me to legally change it before they will accept me. Is this even legal? My last name is quite unique and they claimed it was because they don't want me to be mistaken for leadership as I will be a junior employee. Is this as ridiculous as I think it is?

Has anyone gone from making 120k per year to 160/180k ? How did it feel and was it a huge life improvement and did u finally feel like everything your invested in your work life paid off? I’m at 120k rn and for the number of hours I’ve put in and the complete lack of savings I have living in a hcol city I’m hoping that my next salary will ameliorate my money worries . I don’t think after all I’ve done (school/work) I should feel underpaid and broke but I do

Is it ok to get personal in salary negotiations? For example, let the recruiter know that I’m a single parent supporting three young kids and two retired parents and I really need more money.
