I have trouble not interrupting someone when
1.I know what they are taking about and don’t want them to waste their breath going on.
2. Or when I need clarification on something they are talking about.

How have you all dealt with this ADHD tendency?

Replace the interrupting behavior with another behavior. Clench your hand, stick out a finger (obviously not in their face or anything), take a breath, make a sound/gesture of agreement if applicable. I used to be an interrupter, now I’m a “nodder,” but at least it gives the appearance that I’m an engaged listener even when I’m not.

SAME and thanks PWC1 great advice! I feel like I’m 3 steps ahead mentally a lot of the time (though 20% I’m prob wrong). Learned to bite my tongue, but close colleagues know my cues of it even on vid lol

Yesss I hate that I do this! I was trying some “listening”-oriented meditations and legit listening to pods on how to be a better listener, but unless I’m actively working on that, I fall right back into my interrupting ways! The worst is slow talkers or repetitive speech.... or long, detailed stories.

I’m overall a health individual, track macros and go to the gym, but man for some reason this last year it has been extremely difficult to stay on my macros and follow my diet. Not sure if it’s the WFH or what, but I’m struggling to stay with it!

So I just had 2 tables fight in a restaurant. Table A coughed and table B said oh covid and laughed. Happens that table A is Asian and table B is white.
Table A assumed the joke is because they are Asian and table B says no, everyone got covid not just Asians it’s just a bad joke; who is right?
Table A escalated to a fight and had to be both separated and asked to leave. Who is right?

I’m 16 weeks and my doctor recommended AFP testing to determine neural defects. We already did NT and NIPT which came back low risk. She said it’s to determine if we need to be doing an early anatomy scan sooner than 20 weeks. Anyone else done the AFP testing? PSA: when asking questions, mentioning role, geo and level helps others give a more informed answer. The process for SWE differs vastly from CE or PgM or finance roles. Levels play a role but are generally optional (unless it’s regarding comp). Geo can help esp for non-US stuff, and on team match difficulties.

All I want is to aggressively pay off debt, earn a bit higher paycheck, be more balanced and consistent and reliable, improve my health and take better care of myself, and not almost exclusively dread my job. Long one - one of my best friends (10+ years) and I had a drink last week, I told her of my recent ADHD diagnosis and how we had noticed the generational trend (my mum & grandad as very similar symptoms wise and they acknowledge this, but not diagnosed). What’s the most mg of Vyvanse or Adderall (or both) you’ve taken in a single day?

How do you know when to up the dose on your meds? Currently on 40 mg Vyvanse. I usually get the peak euphoria feeling (super alert) about 1 hour after i take my meds and it lasts for a couple of hours. I work late but have noticed that i spend too much time staring at the screen and keep jumping between tasks. Would upping the dose help me concentrate on one task at a time? If not how do you manage this? What tips would you have to prevent the constant back and forth between tasks? TIA

I show multiple symptoms but am wondering about one specifically.until my promotion to manager I was considered high performer. now am stuck and can’t figure out how to progress. I started taking Adderal, 2.5 g which is not really a lot. It didn’t really help with my focus, instead I felt restless and somehow nervous and really thirsty. And it made me clench my teeth. I do grind my teeth during nighttime but never experienced this in the daytime. Does it take time to get used to it?
