How many sick leaves does ACN have?
Director put me on a project and claimed this is my test to see if I'm ready for the next step? Ill be managing more junior staff. I wasn't promoted in the last cycle, so why the test now?
I tried cutting for the first time. I don’t recognize myself. I want to take short term disability to “fix” myself. Therapy isn’t enough. I don’t know how to do that. Has anyone done it? Any advice?
Hey Fish, I have a question. The past week I have shortness of breath. Did tests and everything seems to be fine with my lungs and heart. Idk if it has to do with anxiety, doctors said it's a possibility. I always think a lot to myself but I never feel overly stressed about anything. Idk what to do or know what it is. Anyone ever dealt with anxiety? Can you tell me how it feels and if you had to ask for medical help? I just want to feel like my normal self again, I've been crying because of this
How are others handling moving office home when you are in your late 60s? I am re-Vising my practice from trial practice to probate and estate planning with some PI. No one wants to buy any of the textbooks or other trial books or medical books I have. For those of you who also are changing their practice, how dealing with the expense of practice stuff you bought but no one wants anymore? My binders were dropped off at eight at an elementary school.
Anybody else sick and tired of other team members forgetting procedures and disrupting workflow? 😤
Housing market is pretty good; I'd like to buy a place but wonder if it's ill advised since I haven't paid off all my student debt yet and there are rumblings about an impending recession
Can you quit your job while on short term disability? Will you get penalized somehow? Going on maternity leave (which is just short term disability) and planning my options out.
Has anyone taken disability leave, and then used it to look for jobs? How does this work legally?
I’m mentally breaking down because I have been doing a job of a scheduler, PM, notetaker, regulatory submissions, and thus have no room for growth to work on strategy. I’m an AS and I am so sick of having to remind everyone because no one looks at my notes, recaps, and no one remembers anything from any meeting. Recently because I’m so exhausted I started making more “mistakes” like not catching a mistake on a submission. Is this because I suck or is it time for me to move off? I feel terrible.
Can anybody suggest any books or resources to get smart on medical device marketing and/or medical device manufacturing?
Ladies - any recommendations for a place to get laser hair removal in NYC? Thinking about getting it done for my lower legs since I'm sick of shaving constantly and nothing seems to work.
When did you start introducing solids? Paediatrician said today we should start at 5-5.5 months. This feels early and there is no medical reason.
Hi fishes, I am currently working with a Top medical device Org but currently there is no learning & no scope of growth here. On the other hand I received a big offer from a startup, which is doing good in India. So my question is, is it a good step to move from a Big US MNC to an Indian Startup ( doing pretty well). Will my profile be hampered when working with startup?
Have workshop I'm leading in a few hours, have not slept because of nerves and feel sick. Clients love me but I still have so much anxiety. Does this ever end?
Is anyone here a male obgyn or uses a male obgyn? If so, why?! I understand for most medical conditions the doctor may not have personal experience with it, but dealing with lady parts and birth is common and I feel more comfortable with a female doctor.
Interesting read about folks who won’t take vaccines. Lots of different rationales, but they all boil down to people thinking they’re smarter than experts (a common problem in modern America) and a general “you can’t tell me what to do” attitude. https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2021/05/the-people-who-wont-get-the-vaccine/618765/
The CDC recommends healthcare facilities consider UV light for decontamination and reuse of FFR's. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/hcp/ppe-strategy/decontamination-reuse-respirators.html
Is it more likely when I put my 2 weeks in that: A.) My agency will work me to the bone for the next 10 days B.) I will be pulled off projects and hopefully training and replacing my current role Thank you for voting, your representation matters.
What's your organization's stance on surveys? I've been in the HR department of my organization for a year and a half, we've never sent any type of engagement, satisfaction, NPS, etc. survey to employees. I've just been made aware that our Executive team and our CEO are not a fan of employee surveys so that's why we don't do them. Is this...normal? Or is it dysfunctional as an HR department to not be doing surveys?
What’s big law like in San Francisco? Anyone have any insights to firm cultures or billable targets?
Anyone else with their eye on the door trying to stall on offers until getting their bonus/raise in September?
Nice pens: worth the expense or waste of money?
Any useful advice on coping with feelings of failure? I have invested a lot of time in the past 5 years to specialise in my field (int'l arb), moved countries twice, invested more money than I currently have to requalify where I am now (UK), and still cannot get even a single interview for an associate position. I have been struggling financially for a while now (I am paid half of what a trainee earns in London), and have been feeling quite disappointed with myself. Should I give up? (Cont.)

Got laid off on Monday. Felt okay at first, but now feel inadequate and useless since Julie Sweet mentioned the 25K that Accenture laid off were low performers. I know I wasn’t a poor performer, I got dinged for not doing enough projects in my practice, but still go top reviews for my projects. Just want to vent.
Level unlocked - A big4 partner who interviewed and grilled me for 45 mins said 'It doesn't feel like an interview cos I wasn't able to make you feel uncomfortable' Why am I posting this here - Motivation, fwiw. 4/5 months ago I was probably the most awkward, anxious non native interviewer. Got a McK interview, practiced like never before, failed the final round due to anxity/casing eff ups. Although I failed, gained lot of confidence and have been flying thru tier 2/b4 interviews since.
I am soon 2 Years at BCG, but my ratings make it unlikely that I make the promotion to C - what are my options? Will BCG help me find another job / give me paid notice to search for new opportunities? Outside of consulting, what would be a realistic position to aim for after 2 years A?
Anyone feel like they are conditioned to always try harder, do better, etc? I'm having such a hard time dialing it back (I want to do this for my own mental health). I want to be okay with just being average, but it's like I'm working against myself...I don't know if it's just a consulting thing, but it's taking A LOT of effort, and I hate feeling like I'm letting ppl down, but ppl let me down all the time lol.
How long is the interview process for PwC for their payer senior associate role? Finished the phone screen and finished their first interview. Is there one or three more to go? I have an offer in hand and was wondering how long it would take. Thank you! Also how much should I be looking at with the base and sign on bonus in the New York region?
Been getting a ton of recruiter outreach messages lately, and a lot of them are attractive roles that I would never even be on a shortlist for. I'm a mid-range analyst at best. Anyone else getting these messages too? Is the market really that thin? I find it a bit unbelievable because I spent two years unemployed and barely getting interviews prior to COVID.
Does rotating among 3-4 clients for no more than a month each requires LCA? Some in the same city as my home office and some are not.
SA at K. Was approached for Manager role at EY in FSO - FSRM. 6+ years exp, and been working as a manager (w/o the title) at K. Will they come through with the manager offer or try to get me in as SA?
