You cannot live on that wage in SF.

@SD1: I'm talking about living on £1k/mo. As a student, I spent about £1000/mo with no taxes, cheap accommodation with bills included and student discounts. £5k/mo PRE-tax is top 5% income here.

Did you mean to say the DS job pays £1k less than the other job? Because £1k total is below even minimum wage in either country... Assuming it's just some reasonable amount less and not below minimum wage, do you know what the daily of each job would entail? Data quality work can range from manual data verification (which will make you go insane) to actually doing some very interesting data science and engineering. At the same time, "data scientist" can sometimes turn out to just be SQL pipelines.

Keep applying. Entry level analytics work isn't so rare that you should be settling for cashier pay.

How many days of PTO do y’all typically take while staffed and how do you socialise it? Feels like I will be letting my team down if I take time off, especially if its more than 1 Friday, since there will be no one to take over my workstreams and ensure they are completed on time. Other members are working as hard if not more and adding my shit on top of that feels cruel. We’re on a long term project so no opportunity to be on the beach soon (thats a good thing I know). Pls help.

Question: The company that you are working for offers cloud managed services and has been approached by a potential client. What are some areas (or red flags) you would consider before responding to their RFP? ( I started putting together a response but would love to get your insights) Answer: 1) Understanding of current annual spending vs spending if they adopted our cloud services 2) Clients expected growth rate 3) Regulatory requirements depending on industry (medical, fed etc)
