Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

Don’t forget it’s almost time to start quarters.

My LM is so keen on small small things, not related to coding but documentation and all. Atleast once in a week I'm committing mistakes on small documentation points n he is stressing on same. Are there any chances that my probation will not be extended or is it a clue for me from my LM. He is Looping his LM and asking questions/clarifications.
Should I ask him directly or can be ignored or need to try outside. Please suggest Barclays

If you are not pregnant yet, and not trying to take leave this year, I think this would be an odd point to negotiate in connection with an offer.

I think paid maternity leave is similar to an earned benefit in the way that many employers structure their leave packages, so asking for a lump-sum payment up front is akin to asking for a PTO cash out before you even start your job. At my last employer, maternity top off payments were in arrears too, so I didn’t get the payment until I went back to work following my leave.
Maybe you could negotiate additional PTO time that you could apply when you go on leave instead? It may be more palatable to the employer than asking for an up front payment for a leave that takes place next year.
I also think it depends on how much information you want them to know about your private life, and whether you think telling them upfront that you plan to take a leave would impact any long-term projects getting assigned to you. I personally did not announce my pregnancy plans to my employer until I was already through the first trimester of pregnancy (but that’s a really personal choice when to announce).
I don’t think it’s odd to ask - I would definitely point out the lack of paid leave as a concern and try to leverage that into a signing bonus. I would wait until after I had the offer though.
