I have worked at UHG for a number of years. Both as a management consultant with an Optum advisory services and on the UHC side in a more of a traditional business role. Considering a move to IBM Watson health as a client executive. Wondering if anyone has had experiences within both companies and can provide any insight to help me make this decision.

I would do your diligence, Watson has been through many failed iterations so make sure you are happy that it is real this time.

At Optum. Good company, I am just significantly underpaid. Only go if you are getting a big jump!

Agree. Pretty good work-life balance but I definitely am not making pay at the market value that I want.

Anyone else feel like they’re crawling up the walls lately? A friend who was on H1B did a CoS to B2 to deal with her divorce and health. She’s done and ready to get back to work. If she gets a company willing to transfer her H1B, will she need to leave the country to get the H1B stamp? If the stamp isn’t possible with the latest EO, will she be able to work with just the transferred H1B? Anyone with experience with CoS from B2 to H1B?

My firm’s IT (especially system saving and file locating function) is so bad 😐😞 and they keep doing updates no one asked them for just to mess with the stuff we already got a hang of without doing anything about the issues we actually need fixed. Anyone else in a similar boat? Do you bill the client for the time it takes to fix the IT issue (or IT inefficiency generally, like time taken to find a file in a convoluted system)? Or is that supposed to be our non-billable time?

Hi consultants! I’m starting very soon in a boutique consultancy in their benchmarking practice. I will be in a very small team because I’m joining a new office location of the firm. From recruiting, I could tell that they have a lot of work in their pipeline and that I will have my hands full right off the bat. Would you have any advice for a newbie? This will be my first full-time role ever and most of my relevant experiences or knowledge comes from my masters or bachelors I would say. Thanks!

Do we know if there is a sponsoring partner that oversees this benefit/ program that I could have more of a heart to heart conversation with? Not getting too far with the general email box and admin contact. From the benefit policy documentation, my understanding is that EY reimburses employees for surrogacy / adoption related expenses up to $50k lifetime. However, anything related to IVF or medical procedures has to go through insurance (also limited to $50k lifetime benefit). Continued…

I don’t understand how some men doing well in their consulting jobs seem socially inept particularly when it comes to dating/relationships. I assume that someone with ‘client hands’ would know how to communicate with and handle a woman he likes. And I’m talking about fully grown men (30+).. Am I wrong to assume this?

Or is the lesson cycle one that begins on the first day you teach in person for each group? This second model seems complicated.
