What are the best ergonomic chairs under $400?
I believe this is textbook burnout. I’d say the only remedy is to take it easy. I know easier said than done. But this is what our body needs.
Sounds like burnout. You can make it go away by going on vacation for at least 1 week.
Reassess a few weeks after that. If you’re still disconnected do some critical thought to identify what you feel like you’re missing but vacation first
This is normal to experience in waves. Try not to get discouraged and switch up your routine if you're positive it's becoming a lingering problem. Ultimately, you'll reach that fork in the road where you either keep going or switch it up.
Maybe it's the holidays approaching...surely our world has more doom and gloom now more than ever (lol) but I feel like everyone gets more and more checked out as the year ends.
Hey, OP, first, are you in tax? I think I'm your client, ha.
Second, quit working so hard. It gets better.
Vacation
I try to do the thing that I want to do least first thing in the day. I also try to tell myself I’m going to do something for five minutes. Sometimes the hard part was just getting started and I’m able to continue for longer than 5 min. It helps, but burnout is hard.
I feel the same
Same here. Accounting can be so stressful. Beginning to question my career choice.
I agree with others that this is textbook burnout. You need to disconnect from work and spend time away, even if just a few days.
do you work from home? I personally do and haven't had this issue, but a change of environment to the office might be helpful to experiment

Sounds like a lack of motivation. Ask yourself these questions to take a deeper look at what you want and what you value : What sparks your interest at work ? What work goals do you want to accomplish? What would make you feel good about yourself? What is success to you ?
You may be in the wrong profession if nothing in your work responsibilities give you any kind of joy and satisfaction

Do you still passionate about what you do? It could be burn out or that you need a career change.
Take a few days off or use the holiday for some self care. You might need a break then come back and see if you still feel the same.
You are definitely not alone. 😞 Sorry OP
I’ve felt like this for the past year or so at my job. Only time I can manage the motivation to get things done is when I’m up against a deadline but that just leads to more stress and anxiety which further worsens the burnout. I don’t really expect if to change until I’m able to make a career change to something outside of public.
