I have zero motivation to work out at home (won’t be back to the gym anytime soon where I live) but I know it’s necessary for both my physical and mental health. Any suggestions for motivation and maybe some great at home workouts I could try?? Getting desperate over here!

Go for a walk while listening to a podcast! It’ll get you moving and it’s better than nothing. If you end up trying other types of workouts, tell yourself you only have to do it for 10 minutes. I guarantee once you’re dressed and set up and you get into it, you’ll work out for longer. I echo Peloton, but for a nonstandard (and fun!) at home workout suggestion I’ll throw out Rumble

like

The 10 minutes is a great suggestion!

I really love the Peloton workouts! Also, if you get bored of these, maybe try something outdoor - biking, hiking, running or even walking?

I don’t have the bike, I do the mat workouts, and there’s enough variety even within those. They have strength, yoga, and cardio and I try to explore them all depending on how I’m feeling

like

Same. I only really like doing barre in a studio but I will pass out if I go work out in a mask. Maybe biking if you live near somewhere that is safe to do so?

Definitely recommend getting one if u have the means to store it! Also a lot of cities have bike sharing now at reasonable rates if ur not sure if u wanna commit yet.

Beachbody has a huge variety of workouts at all different levels. If you can’t find something you like it’s you.

Go for a run outside

I’m realizing I have a lot of fear—mostly related to health stuff and death. Feel like people are getting sick left right and center (not talking about covid). I’ve never had anyone close to me become very sick or die—don’t know what I would do if this happened. I’m also overly concerned about my health and seem to be at the doctor every month to get something checked. Can anyone relate or provide suggestions on how to overcome something like this?

I’m getting married in 6 months. How can I lose fat in my arms?! I feel like my arms in my stomach are my biggest problem areas. Or at least the ones that make me the most self-conscious. I’m 27 with no real health issues other than being overweight, and I’m allergic to fish and nuts if that is helpful. I work out at least twice a week but trying to make it more like 4 for at least for the next three months

I’m curious to hear from people at other firms what is offered in terms of part time work or alternative work options for people that don’t really care about making partner and might want to work part time. I just had my second child and want to ask to come back from maternity leave on a part time basis but our firm doesn’t seem to have anything in place right now. If your firm offers this, what’s the billable requirement, how much of a pay cut is it, and do you still get benefits? Thanks!

How do I handle working for a partner who does everything at the last minute? So far I’ve been handing in my drafts a few weeks early and then sending follow-up emails reminding her of the upcoming litigation deadlines. We have to get extensions and/or work at the last minute sometimes. Apparently the firm is well aware of her flaws. I wasn’t doing much work for this partner until her associate was terminated a few months ago. I hate working like this. Do I keep nagging her about deadlines?
