Currently I'm pursuing my MBA at Western Governors University and I plan to get my Series 7 after my MBA so I can get out of the Call Center and advance my career. I'm looking for some advice / guidance/ideas for growth opportunities from here. I'd like to hear about good experiences and bad experiences people have had in this industry, where did you start, how did you grow from there, what licenses do you have, ect.

I’ve been working in the HR space and am interested in pursuing an MBA to transition into Human Capital consulting/ Change management/ Talent technology and analytics. I’ve been seeing a few T30 schools that have a focus in those areas including Vanderbilt, Rice, BYU etc. Would it be better to pursue an MBA program highly ranked in that concentration area or to try to get into a school ranked higher overall? Thanks!

Good luck to those who are going into their first busy season! Yes, it’s daunting at first - we’ve all been there (albeit, not in a remote environment amidst a pandemic.) My best advice is to take one day at a time (marathon, not a sprint). Remember audit/tax/consulting is not life or death, and you WILL make it through. Have patience with yourself and your teams. Find a mentor! Don’t forget you can always find some moral support (read: self-deprecating humor) in your fellow fish!
As a staff on the consulting side, does anyone else find it awkward to join a zoom call with the client before the manager/sm joins in?
Which firm benefits/insurance should I enroll and skip? Will elect HSA and firm-paid disability insurance. How about employee critical illness insurance or long term care plan?
If you get laid off is it possible to go to a B2 visa and then back to a H1B? Extremely stressed with current situation and having purchased a house recently seems to be adding additional pressure.
I have a standing offer with Accenture (AFS). Due to coronavirus, the recruiter told me they are pausing staffing of external people like myself while they take care of internal people on the bench. My recruiter said he would touch base monthly during covid, but usually I’m the one to reach out to him. We haven’t spoken since mid March, so should I reach out? I totally understand if they’re still in the same position as before and nothing changed since mid March in terms of hiring.
I have a H1B visa that has been renewed once already. However in the designated period of 6 years I have been in the US for only around 2. Does that mean I can renew my H1B visa or reapply fresh?...

Hey all, debating between moving to Boulder or Seattle for the next few months to work remote, was wondering what your thoughts were on the different cities? For reference, single 26M. I don't own a car, so I want something walkable. Also looking for decent access to nature.
Does anyone get anxious every few days that they're getting sick ...? I'll be fine for a couple days, then have a day where I'm second guessing every throat tickle or sniff. It's aggivating.
