I'm 26 y o, working in GP reporting as an analyst making 65k in NYC. I have a humanities degree & didn't run the recruiting circuit in college, so I don't have traditional analyst experience. Basically, I'm worried I'm never going to make enough & will still have roommates when I'm in my thirties 😣 which is so frustrating as ppl assume I make bank once I tell them what industry I'm in. Any career suggestions on what I can do to get ahead? Should I consider an MBA? 😖
Any insight into experienced rotational programs for people 2-3 years into their career? Looking at ones that would be considered pre-MBA and not immediately out of undergrad. Only one i’ve found so far is blackstone’s portfolio analyst gig
I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's Master's in Management. They both have the same requirements, generally speaking, including a field immersion course that serves as a capstone in the Master's in Management, which is fairly new. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?
I currently work for a private automotive service company with a little over 6000 employees. I am in the treasury department, working as a cash and liquidity analyst. I have my MBA in management from a small college and two years of experience. I’m trying to figure out what would be a good salary for my experience and education.
My salary is 13 lpa after 3 years of post MBA experience from a new IIM (the company doesn’t give good hikes- started with the 11). My father and brother run a business with turnover 15 cr plus in a small town.
Financially (over the next two decades) what is advisable- to continue in the corporate or join business?

Hello Mastercard employees. I have been trying to break into MC for long now.

Debating if I should take up a Mck lateral EM offer vs a Director level IC role in F500 in an industry I was before getting my MBA? TC is similar between the two offer, but trying to see what are other factors I should use to evaluate the two offers? For context, I am a manager at B4 and targeting SM promotion by 2022-2023 - so not taking any offers is also a viable option.
I m a MBA graduate in marketing with 8months experience in banking sector. Looking for a suitable job. If anyone can refer me in any reputated company, It would be helpful thanks in advance
Hi folks I have a quick question. I have a masters. Currently a SC in the US practice soon moving to the Toronto practice. To make Manager in Canada do we need PMP/Similar certifications? Thank you!!
Didn't end up making the cut in Strategy consulting case interviews. Would really like to do strategy / S&O some day. I love using data to inform decision-making.
Wondering if it would make sense to continue consulting in implementation then try to pivot again in the future or at another level - or drop consulting & try to get a strategy job at a startup or maybe do something else at a larger company and try to pivot internally.
Background is tech + MBA. Any insight appreciated!
Have an offer for Deloitte..not sure if I am being offered fairly. What is the typical fixed component for someone with Post MBA experience of 7.5 years in Consulting? Skills- SQL, Python, AWS.
I have Telephone Expenses and LTA form major part of the annual component? What is the procedure to claim that and to what extent are these refunded?
What is organisations contribution towards employee wellbeing? How much of this is paid and in what form?
What % of variable component is guaranteed?
Has anyone made the jump from tech-specific consulting (epm, crm, erp, etc.) to more generalist consulting/strategy? I love the subject matter (finance, enterprise value) of what I do but I’m not passionate about the tech. I’m probably within a month of my solution architect cert but I don’t see myself doing this long term. I also have concerns about pigeonholing myself into one technology and limiting my career prospects. Any advice?
Would you say the the EM certification is difficult? What does it entail? I assume they aren’t configuring.
I am in the process of finishing up my MBA but considering also getting my SPHR or PHR cert. Is it even worth it or a waste of time and money?
As a new hire, what’s the better approach? Go around looking (begging) for billable hours or sit tight at my desk for 8 hours a day and study for the CPA exam?

To all North American MBA applicants, how is INSEAD typically viewed as an MBA school. Its very prestigious in Europe and the MENA region but just curious to understand its perception especially in the states. How wide is the name recognition in corporate world? Do NA based applicants consider it to be in the same league as top US MBA schools?
Does the GRE truly hold the same weight as GMAT for MBA? I feel like I’d do better on GRE.. but figure at the end of the day I’ll have to take the GMAT
I took the GMAT twice ( “first time I got 700 - 88th % for verbal and 55% for quant), and the second time my score dropped to 680. On practice tests I was getting between 720 and 760, but can’t get there on test day. I’m thinking of pivoting to the GRE, but I’m wondering whether I should try again with the GMAT. Any advice from people who’ve thought about or gone through this transition?
Good luck everyone on Tuck today!
