..can't really social distance while commuting (if you don't drive), or in a meeting, or by the coffee machines, etc. It feels like going into the office is an all or nothing affair. Anybody know how it would work?
Our tentative plan is about 30% of staff will return when stay at home orders are lifted, daily wiping down of workstations with bleach wipes, hand sanitizer throughout, temp checks, staggering the times that people are in the office to minimize contact. Phase 2 will increase to maybe 70% of staff. Phase 3, everyone is back but people with underlying conditions won't be required to work in the office.
Also, people in the office will be required to stay 6 ft apart even when talking. In phase 2, meetings of up to 10 can take place.
Can’t social distance forever lol. Going back to the office will only happen when we can safely be around people again

Considering the data coming out is showing that people under 50 and no underlying issues are basically fine then yeah I think we can use a targeted approach to go back.

Yes, that’s what targeted approach means. We can’t continue on the path of the government subsidizing us and our unemployment numbers increasing by 5-10million per week.
It doesn’t make sense to keep 50% of our workforce at home if they are barely affected by the disease. This approach also helps with herd immunity, which still isn’t proven but does work with other diseases.
Weird way to announce mass layoffs.

I was more optimistically thinking WFH from everyone who is able indefinitely but I guess that is more pertinent for lots of companies who can't work remotely effectively or at all
