I hit my knee somewhere and it hurts. Been a couple of days. What should I do? Is it time to see a doctor? Or wait? Anything I can do by myself? :(

Where is the pain? I’ve had 5 knee surgeries so I can try to help! Elevate it and ice it a few times per day in 20 min intervals in the meantime

Urgent care was so useless- they asked me to rest, ice, compress, and elevate. What kinda doctor should I see. It’s been two weeks now.

If you don’t recall a specific incident, it could be an overuse injury. Do you run or walk a lot? This has happened to me (IT band and hammy on separate occasions). One day my knee just started hurting when running and I was convinced that I injured it without realizing. Stretching, foam rollers, and glute strengthening fixed it after a week each time.

Agree with K1’s recommendation. See if you can stretch and look up myofascial release techniques in the meantime.

I banged the outside of my knee while moving stuff and it hurt to bend for about a week before going away. Never got it checked out and it resolved itself. Not medical advice.

Yeah, sometimes I sleep with jewelry on and also has tons of books and colors on my bed. Probably that’s why. I also hit myself on the bed post all the time. I should definitely look into it. 😭

When I bend my knees or straighten it. When I touch it too.

Ice and heat therapy.

I train Muay Thai and we strike with knees often, or we get kicked in knees while trying to check. All this leads to frequent bruising and swelling. I’m not a doctor but imho, usually just ice and heat therapy, and rest, is enough.

But then again, I’m not a doctor.

Doing ice therapy now and resting. But it’s been two weeks and am getting concerned now.

Anyone here deal with chronic back pain and SI joint dysfunction? My muscles have asymmetrical strength due to over compensation so when I get tired my pelvis rotates and hips get out of alignment which aggravates the pain. I've done several rounds of PT over the years and can never maintain it. I'm trying to find something maintainable.
