I hit my one year at my company on the 15th of November. I had lunch with my boss on the 10th and he mentioned a raise but not how much or when it would be effective.

Flash forward to now, we’ve had 2 paychecks since then and I haven’t received anything. He said last week he would let me know this week, but I’m getting frustrated.

He’s raising my billing rate effective Jan. 1, and I’m worried I won’t get my raise until then. Anyone have something similar happen?

It would probably end up being effective first of the year. But it might not hurt to address this with the partner?

Agreed on the first of the year. It would be nice to get it around the holidays, but not complaining too much, a raise is still a raise!

Raises are usually always effective 1st of the year. Especially if that’s when he’s raising your billing rate.

Most firms have an annual review schedule and raises will fall around that timeframe. It won’t go around what your personal work anniversary is because everyone’s is different. They usually review compensation firm wide and look at everyone at once. You have to remember it’s a business so they look at profit, overhead, etc when thinking about raises/bonuses. So yes I guess technically you will lose out on a couple of months, but that’s usually how it goes.

My raises have always gone into effect during the month I was hired, not first of the year.

Just go ask. Say, "you mentioned a raise. Can you tell me how much and when it will start?"

I got promoted recently. The new pay kicks in 2 months later. I have another job offer that will pay me 30k more + 20k sign bonus. My current employer is a global org, the brand name certainly has value but they don’t pay well. When I told them about my offer and tried negotiating, they refused to budge from the num my new pay would be and offered 10k retention bonus instead. I’m one of the highest performing individuals in the team. I feel like they don’t care whether I leave or stay. Thoughts?

Initially she claimed unemployment but they moved to tele-therapy so she’s been earning an hourly rate. However she’s struggling as they are consistently not been paying her the correct amount and with no explanation. She had an employment contract to end of Aug with a 3 month notice period that they did not give to her. Could she possibly force them to pay out her contract?

Wipro: 20lpa includes 2L variable, Designation: Tech Lead

Cts looks to be the option but I'm not clear on the reasons for high attrition at CTS.

I’ve been activity looking for new paralegal roles but my last position was working in the public sector. Some have told me that it’s a pro, others have said that it’s a con.
