I honestly don’t understand why people like those Jake State Farm spots. They’re beyond bland to the point of being terrible. (Yes, the ladies find him hot but he’s nothing more than a cardboard cutout…) They should’ve created a call center campaign from the original (and funny) Jake from Stare Farm one-off. Such a missed opportunity.

Do people like them? They’re almost background noise…barely noticeable. They only stand out to me because I work in the industry, so naturally I wonder why a brand uses a spokesperson, yet refuses to give them anything interesting to say or do.

I agree. The whole concept of the ads now are people thanking him, which comes across as State Farm thanking themselves since it’s their commercial. 🤢

People love call centers.

🙄 it’s a 2 location script. Caller (at home or wherever), then a quick cut to the rep in the call center as in the original. Creative teams must love you. 🤦‍♂️

I wonder if the guy from the original ad before they recast him is super pissed he missed out on all those residuals

It’s an ad.

He’s easy on the eyes though - as living logos go

Powerful brand asset (just like the tag and jingle). They can do more with him, just need better writers.

👆 Bingo. This definitely isn’t the creative team. This has all the hallmarks of a client that just wants to tow the line until a promotion

Im someone with a "business" background (supply chain, procurement) that went to work for as a consultant for tech consulting firm after finishing my MBA, but now having trouble finding a project. Got my PSM 1 cert, but not sure what else to do. Not a technical person, never coded. What would you recommend someone in my position to focus on? I'd like to remain on the project management/BA side of the business. TIA!

Looking for some good vibes, I guess 🦚 🍄🍀☀️Having long lived the “happy life” aka a successful career and a loving relationship, I suddenly find myself unemployed, struggling to find a new role, and in constant fights with my partner following our engagement. Uff. I know, it’ll all be ok eventually, but there are these moments when it’s tough to see the silver lining. How do you keep your chin up on days like these? 🌈

I am struggling with the fact that I have 13 years of HR experience in one capacity or another, along with a bachelors degree and my PHR designation yet companies say “I’m not qualified or they ghost me when I apply for HR openings. I am experienced in all aspects of HR. How are people with little to no experience coming right out of college obtaining higher level roles than I have currently? It makes my passion for the field just go away.

How many days of PTO do y’all typically take while staffed and how do you socialise it? Feels like I will be letting my team down if I take time off, especially if its more than 1 Friday, since there will be no one to take over my workstreams and ensure they are completed on time. Other members are working as hard if not more and adding my shit on top of that feels cruel. We’re on a long term project so no opportunity to be on the beach soon (thats a good thing I know). Pls help.
