I honestly feel like I'm going crack. I just started IB about half a year ago, and I can tell a lot of the stress that makes it unbearable is linked to being WFH.
I'm trying to hang on until we return to the office but it feels so far away (I'm not in the US, so it'll be much longer)

Going back to office will be worse - you’re going to waste 1-1.5 hours in the morning getting reads and commuting, another 30 min at night coming home. You can’t shower or work out or do laundry until you get home so you’re losing all that time you’re doing that now during the day or whenever you have down time.

like

Just learn how to ask for help; as long as the questions are reasonable no one will complain. If it's not a good time, they will tell you.

You get so much more autonomy over your life by working from home. Make the most of it before you're back in the office.

You can definitely work out or even take a 20 min nap at home while being "green" on Skype. Can't do that in the office

It’s really hard. Take breaks and power naps to de stress.

I have a 2 year old, wife and all that being close I’m not readily available. So it’s tough. Add in last class of MBA, only junior left on my team I felt at times I was going to pull my hair out. Add in being in the guard and going and having a bunch of crap thrown at you and screamed at in the streets over last year, and stressing about being away from work all the time at one point, I legit felt my sanity slipping. Make time for yourself.

And further, I was in some fairly rigorous and demanding military units when I was younger and I know my physical limits pretty well. But I also wouldn’t ask someone to do something I myself wouldn’t do so pitches would come back all wrong from analysts and stuff. I’d stay up and help them and I was essentially doing sequential all nighters for a few rough weeks.

Plus with constant guard call ups, or being called up then stood down I tried to stay 48 hours ahead on work flow. MBA just finished I graduate this month so it’s slowly freeing up

Hi All, I’m a recruiter for a $4B 2,000+ employee construction commercial real estate company. I have 8 total years of construction recruiting experience and have been with my company for 5 years. In March of 23’, I’m due for a promotion to Sr. Recruiter/Talent Acquisition lead.I will have 3 recruiters reporting to me. Im currently at $80k base salary and am wondering what I should be looking for in my raise? Im based in Chicago and work fully remote. I am thinking I want $100k. Is that too low?

Boss has WFH for 9months. I have been WFH for 2-weeks for travel quarantine/state guidelines. She now requires that I go back to the office to “show face” that HR is right alongside the essential employees. I have been more productive from home vs the office. I get the perspective of team unity, but is it wrong to feel there is no reason to risk my health? The company justifies increasing my covid risk (high-risk already) to “show face”, when my job is being fulfilled while WFH. Am I crazy?

I have 3 years of experience as a UX/UI Designer and I am available to start working immediately! (Remote work is preferred since I live in Phoenix, AZ and there are not a lot of tech jobs here)

Hi ladies! An old chestnut but would still love to hear your advice: i am fairly certain a key senior stakeholder is being difficult because he perceives me as a senior non white woman trying to boss him around. I have heard that he doesn’t like to surround himself with people cleverer than him in fear of them taking over his job, which to me further confirms this is a possibility. What can/should I do? I left gecio and went to liberty mutual, but I’m not liking their way of evaluating claims. They rely heavily on Mitchell which is a pricing tool and their reductions are excessive. I’m thinking of switching back to Geico and was wondering if anyone has gone back to their previous carrier. I used to be a lit adjuster at gecio and now only handling soft tissue claims, which is extremely boring. I’m gonna be going through liberty’s litigation training at the end of June.

Asked for a LOA because I just got bad medical news and want time to process & find surgeons (I have to decide between staying in constant pain or being able to have kids one day). HR said it’s not a valid reason & I’ll lose my insurance at the end of the month if I take leave. They want me to use my 5 days of sick time & return to work after. I have an underlying autoimmune issue & need to save my sick days in case of a flare up. Ranting, but a reminder that companies don’t care about anyone

I don’t know if it’s because people in the banks are like this or if it’s because french people are rude.
