What I’m getting from this post is you’re lacking your destiny. God has giving everyone a calling on their life and yes he will lead you and bless you but one thing he will never do is take away your free will. We are put on this earth to bring light and salvation to others. But we all have different callings. Some are called to be pastors, writers, business man and etc.
if you look in the old testament, you'll see that sometimes decades or more might pass without anything happening. I think this shows that God's timing may not be our timing. what we do with that time is an important decision
Thanks for the offer to message privately, I'd actually rather reply here to get other's opinions.
> bring light and salvation to others
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't this imply that God strips us of light and the holiness that he creates us with, so we become sinful? God loves and wants us for the love and light that we bring onto others and back to God, but doesn't He already know everything as the Creator? Why make us to serve Him?
I know this took a more ontological turn, but these are the questions I've been asking myself and struggling to understand the past few months. No matter what Bible passage or daily devotional I read, I can't help but turn critical and just ask, "why?" To be honest, it just doesn't make any damn sense.
you are fighting for your faith and I hope you keep going at it! Our culture is so hard to live in right now as believers and sometimes the church doesn’t support or address these tough issues. At the end I don’t think faith can be solved through reason only, but just know the Holy Spirit and Jesus will pursue you, and you can bring these doubts, frustrations and honest feelings to Him
also makes me feel as if our work and human lives are completely useless, especially if we're supposed to lean on God/Jesus.
I know I should go to a pastor at my church to talk about this, but I think it's going to be a meaningless conversation
If you ever wanna chat about things, please feel free to DM me
What do you enjoy doing? What are you passionate about? What are you good at?
Do these align with Bible principals? Talk to God, have a real conversation.
I sometimes struggle with stuff like this, and when I don’t get a clear answer I revert to the questions above. Hope this helps.
I think it’s great you’re asking these questions! We experience doubt in our faith all the time but Christians aren’t vocal about it. I’d encourage to keep pressing and asking these questions and trying to meet with pastors and try to seek answers. Also recommend tim Keller’s reason for faith and other apologetics books.
thanks, I read a Reddit comment the other day that mentioned almost the exact same thing: leave room in our minds, aside from logic, for faith.
I seem to have trouble having blind faith, let alone any faith to be quite honest. I can't remember if I ever felt God speaking to me. however much I pray and go to God, anything that happens seems to be a result of my own doing, both good and bad.
