Personally I plan on continuing to stay at Ws and throwing up in their rooms. Far more effective than a boycott. Boycotts are for hippies.
Most hotels are owned by independent investors, not by the brand (W) or hotel group (SPG/Marriott). Quick Googling suggests Triyar Hospitality Scottsdale, LLC owns the W in question. Long story short: boycott them, not the whole brand.

Ok I agree with Mc1. I've been sick at hotels before and let not from drinking. That's on you. And I have had everything from toilet tanks breaking to water overflows for the years I've traveled. I have to say I approach things in a very accountable manner. I immediately call the desk. I work with the hotel staff to figure how to best deal with things and 99% of the time they were all gracious. Then follow up with a very commendable thank you letter to them and Corp. I can't see championing your cause my dear. It's very self serving. Sorry.

@D according to your prior story you made it seem that you puked up your guts and some splattered on the coverings but you mostly got it on the can. I followed your initial post and you never posted that you emptied out the trash can and cleaned it out and made sure the room was somewhat decent. You said you left it in the bin. Totally different story. Check your facts and unbunch your panties. It's over and you left a mess for an employee to clean up not your mama.

W is a SPG property so why switch brands when they're same holding company.
Posted last week...the W tried to charge me $1,010 for throwing up in a trash can when I was sick. I used to stay there ~every other week or 3 weeks (don't travel every week). They lowered it to $650 and by "they" I mean some assistant manager bc the GM refused to speak to me or respond to my email. Still speechless and blood boiling and this happened a week and a half ago. Still have incident cases open with the W, SPG is next, then cred card dispute - I will NOT pay this - but the whole thing makes me want to destroy them and make sure the W loses much more than $650 from this (they already will since they lost my loyalty and my entire team too - hoping fb friends will follow 🙃) #boycottwhotels
It's still not a good enough reason. Now if they were racially biased or had filthy rooms then I could see your cause but I am skeptical and just cause one person thinks it's a good idea to jump off a cliff doesn't make me want to become a lemming.
