Shorting is fine. Counterfeits like this is wild. I am buying more at the open. These people need to go down.

like

Here's my rant. If TL;DR, shorting should just be illegal and you can stop there.

I understand that the math is sound on why there can be over 100% of the float as short. For every short, you're creating 2 longs, and the short is counted as a negative 1 on the record keeper's books. But there is just something fundamentally wrong about shorting.

The 2 longs might be in it for the long haul. And the short is theoretically exposed to infinite loss because of the obligation to return the share to the original owner at a given date.

How can a financial institution legally allow something with theoretical infinite loss, even if it's a small likelihood of happening?

Shorting should just be illegal. If you want to let people earn more money than just regular investing, use options that can be 100% covered by the shares that are owned for call-writers, and allow people to use collateral and leverage for put-writing.

Hi All, Just after a terrible talent acquisition process. I applied for a job got contacted and told bookk a time with a member of the TA team. Booked the meeting which got moved twice and then cancelled. Different team member contacted me then and asked me to book time which I did. Initial meeting cancelled and second meeting was told the original requisition was filled vut a new one was being loaded and they would be in contact. Needless to say i withdrew myself from the process.

Hi, I’m in a field where there are very few foreigners. I’ve been in this country since teenage years but I’m still on h1b (but most employers would think I’m already a citizen because they just don’t encounter many candidates who are not Americans in the field). At what point should I inform a potential employer that I need visa sponsorship? I was told I should wait to tell until I get an offer. Is that right?

Having an issue with direct 401k rollover. I had an after tax portion with old plan and my new 401k plan now does not accept after tax rollovers. The check has already been issued to a state street bank & trust FBO [my name] and I can’t reissue to a new bank. Any tips on deposit this check to an IRA? Can I endorse to another bank even though I’m only FBO on the check?

I honestly apologize because I know this kinda thread shows up a lot but I’m honestly looking for advice on if I should stop putting money into savings.

Retirement: $70K

Kinda late to the game on investing due to lack of knowledge and paying off student loans. No debt, pay off cc every month. Own a home, so have mortgage. Should I use the money I put into an HYSA and go direct to my brokerage? I tend to be conservative that’s why I like more cash
