Any advice on how to approach your Google manager about turning your role into 60% part-time (3 days/week)? I know there is business need for role, so would be hit to the team, but I’m feeling burn out hard and don’t see how I can last much longer. Figure it would be better to go part time than leave altogether, but can’t really say that to my manager. Any way to explore this without blowing everything up?

Tell them about the success you have had, ask the person who reccomended you, look at what the tasks are the software used, get trial versions of the software at home or on you work computer so you can spin upand find parallels in your current work. Don't sell yourself short.
I doubt the old boss is setting you up for failure. It may be a shoe in or at least a good bet. Rise to the occasion. You have nothing to lose but time. Do you have anything better to do? Is it time for a change?
