I interviewed at company A and B. Company A sent me an offer, however I really want to work at company B, and they said they would get back to me last week and still have not even after following up. Is it pushy or frowned upon to tell company B that I got an offer from company A so can they hurry the hell up and tell me if I’m getting an offer from them. Company B also said there is still a round of reference checks left and the holidays are coming up.. help! What should I do?

Absolutely in my opinion, it shows your committed to the company by holding off another offer, and shows your marketable. Let B know when A needs to hear by. If they’re reasonable (presuming you’ve done all interviews) they should make an effort to let you know by this date, and I believe it will either be neutral or work in your favour. Please note this is my opinion

A bird in hand is worth 2 in the bush!

Let Company B know ASAP. It’s amazing how responsive companies can be once they realize you’re slipping away.

And don’t be afraid to ask for more time from company A. Emphasize how you want to be fully confident when you make your decision and they should be understanding.

Are you sure you want to work at company B? It appears company B doesn't keep commitments and can't make a decision - not the company culture that would make me want to wait.

Company A must feel you are the right fit for the role and are willing to move quickly with the recruiting process during a time when there is a war for talent. If the salary, benefits, perks are competitive, I would give serious consideration to the offer.

My advice, if you accept the offer from company A, don't burn a bridge and then later rescind the offer acceptance to take an offer from company B if they happen to get their act together.

Hey everyone! Wanted some advice - got an offer from a big ad agency for a Planning Manager role. Base salary is $90K (more than satisfactory, I have 2.5-3 years of total agency exp), but their PTO is severely lacking especially compared to my unlimited PTO benefit at my current job - they offered 10 actual PTO days, which are even prorated since it's mid-year. Assuming their PTO allowance is negotiable, any advice for how to handle the email follow-up to the written offer/how much to ask for?

After my slight raise I am making $21/hr. Is this fair for my area? Advice?

Anybody sick of lateral moves? Was IT EnG. Moving to this country I started as a Manufacturing Technician and in a year or so moved to Operational Manager. Didn’t know better and that was a lateral move hoping for better. Covered a lot of areas and people successfully for a thanks. Fast forward almost 8 years later I stepped down from manager to process engineer for being paid less than my techs. This is another lateral move. I’m still at same tech grade in a salary position. Wait or leave ?

Is it worth negotiating….
I was given an verbal offer yesterday for a great job as an account manager for a new company. The verbal salary offer came in 2k short of what I told them my minimum salary requirements would be. The job has great perks and to be honest I still may take the offer if they reject my counter.

The other thing is how much more should I ask for? Hypothetically if I wanted 50k and they offered me 48k, how much should I ask for in the counter, I was thinking maybe 5k more
