Weird question: so, I come from defense side, but am currently working as a plaintiffs litigator. I have applied to a defense firm and I’m currently in the mix of finalists. Coincidentally, I happen to be opposing counsel in a case staffed by one of the firm’s partners. He and I have a good professional rapport and mutual respect. I don’t think he’s on the hiring committee, so I doubt that he’s aware of my candidacy at his firm. But I think he would be an excellent reference. Can I say anything?
Anyone know average BCG referral app response time? Feeling insecure and just want to know whether I got the first round or got rejected a little bit sooner 😞😞😞

My degree is in finance, and I am really looking to pair that degree with my passion for real estate investment. Any suggestions on how to make the transition? I am just concerned on how to sell my current experience to a finance-specific role. Any thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated!

I love my career and I’m not necessarily looking to switch it up just yet, just seeing how pigeon-holed I am. TIA!

I am currently debating on applying for a Senior Pharmacy Claims Professional role at Humana. I have been with the company over 10 years. Any thoughts on what to expect for a wage/salary? Also, would this role be equivalent to a Team Lead role?
I recently discovered that I am being placed in a band of 1-2 years in role because I made a switch from operations to product. My colleagues are making 20-30% more than I am and we have similar output. Part of the management perspective is that I have adequate stock value and that switching into product means that I do not have my prior experience packaged into my banding. I’m curious how others who made transitions in their career have been able to navigate this?
I don't EVER do this, but I have to make a really big decision and I LITERALLY have no idea what to do So when I applied to be a supervisor at UPMC Mckee I wanted that position sooo badly that I would NOT leave the manager alone and then he hired me ❤️ I was hired at Flex full-time which meant I was ONLY gauranteed 28 hrs a week. There are 3 supervisors altogether, 2 are salary and then the flex is hourly. Well the week I got hired the 2nd sup put his 2 weeks in so for the first 2 mnths the othe

What’s generally standard among FAANG companies for offer acceptance once one is extended? If anyone has experience with this, is it one week or is it more flexible? I am trying to schedule final onsite with two companies and hoping I can get timing to line up (in the event I am fortunate enough to have offers).
I've been working in a small business here in houston,tx as a computer technician / help desk support etc. I got hired from the Philippines and got a working visa.. on the contract they pay me $25 an hour but in reality it is just $17 i have no choice because I'm already here in Texas...

Currently have an interview that requires a TS/SCI clearance, though it's stated in my resume that I currently have a Secret clearance. I did not directly apply for the job, but was contacted by a Recruiter. Did the Recruiter not read my resume or is this a negotiation point during the interview? Coming out of 8 years in the Army with just my current civvie career under my belt.
My fellow 🐟, this might be a dumb question but I can’t seem to find the info, hence reaching out to you all. I’m trying to find the signing bonus repayment policy on my Accenture offer letter but it keeps referring to an addendum which I dont have in my records. Is there any additional tangible value in getting the CIPM in addition to the CIPP (I.e., will a company hire a candidate with both the CIPP and CIPM over one with just the CIPP, if both candidates have same YOE)?
Can I reject an offer after digitally signing the offer letter from Mindtree? If so, how do I do it? I have already asked the HR if an offer revision is possible. But he said that he doesn't care if I reject the offer and he won't raise the CTC by a single rupee.
Every PM job posting I see in big tech/FAANG requires a MINIMUM of 5+ years experience, and a large portion even require 7+ years. Most of the associate/rotational PM roles require 3+ years and some require 5+. Yet it seems like every 24 year old I know that went to a target school is now a PM in big tech… am I the only one confused?

Looking to connect with someone that may be able to help me assess the current state of my career, trajectory, best fit, etc.

Hello fellow HR pros! I really need your opinions on HR certifications. I am deciding between PHR and SHRM-cp. I have read just about all there is online comparing the two and can not decide. My heart is telling me PHR, my mother in law (an HRBP) is telling me to go with SHRM, as it’s more widely recognized, more established and a larger network in general. I work for a 350~ company who is growing rapidly through M&A. Passions/interests are compliance, strategic vision, M&A, branding and culture
Does anyone specialize in early retirement packages/buyouts? Do you use standard formulas or is each bespoke? What is typically included? What could be thrown in as beneficial or helpful?

I have a friend in London that has a fantastic offer from GS - he will also be in HR. But he currently has a pending charge against him that his lawyer is pretty confident that he can get the case thrown out. It’s an assault by beating charge and was done in self defense after the other person trespassed and walked up to my friend in a threatening way. My friend wants to turn it down as his lawyer doesn’t think he will pass vetting. Given the circumstances, possible he can be upfront & pass bgc?
I’m job hunting in Los Angeles, looking at a variety of titles (HRBP, Sr. HRBP, Manager, Sr. Manager, Director). I have 8 YOE and my SHRM-SCP. I reached my report limit on payscale.com, so I used a variety of other sites to price the roles (BLS, salary.com, Glassdoor, LinkedIn, Robert Half). The problem I’m having is the huge inconsistencies between sources (there are $40k differences between some of the identified medians). (Continued…)

I have a final interview with a tech company that has received a lot of private equity start up cash. This is my first encounter with a group with private equity moneyA I’ve researched the firm- but what are some questions to ask in this type of situation? I’m meeting with the CEO. Thanks!
I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.
What is the best way to get SHRM certified. I have my associates in business administration.
Is it worth it to get a professional certification like SHRM/PHR? Not many of my colleagues have one and it’s not a requirement for my role, but I’m curious if it’s worth it in the long run
I was presented with a great opportunity with my current employer that I had to turn down - required relocation. Now I’m feeling defeated and disconnected. I’m tired of putting out fires everyday and feeling like I’m walking on ice (mostly due to being a overachiever). I can’t stop thinking of the what ifs. Not really sure what the question is but just need some reassurance, I guess?
