I empathize with your situation, but don't have the answer, unfortunately. I have been ghosted by recruiters so many times that I have just accepted it as a fact of life. I will try to follow up a max of 3 times usually and then I move on with my life.
Can anyone with recruiting insights explain why when a recruiter reaches out to a candidate about an interview and the candidate replies promptly and professionally, waits a couple days and follows up again, and then maybe again, that recruiter would just never respond?!
They reached out to me! I've also had them set up an interview and then just never show up. I have higher expectations for cable company customer service than I do for recruiters.
Yes it’s Uber unprofessional which is why I’m inclined now to not move forward if they reach back out. It looks unprofessional and disorganized

S/he’s just not that into you
This was all through an external recruiter though which makes it even more bizarre. Why string someone along? Also she was just super enthralled with the industry I’m in given Texas, where we both are, doesn’t have much of it (both work in same industry). It was almost like she wanted to network and was scared to say “no” given she wanted the connect.
I really like the organization and role, but I’m looking at all of this as being a bunch of red flags. I’m thinking they either didn’t have approval for the role and are stalling/waiting, couldn’t get calendars to align, bad communication (red flag), were lying because they didn’t want to hurt feelings (red flag) or some combo.
