I feel what you are going through so much, I recently got told by my boss “you should thank god you have a job” which was shocking to me aside from all the toxicity and the awful office policies that was it for me! keep applying I’m with you, I’m sure we will find a way better environment. <3
I am in a similar boat… terrible work situation and I’ve been interviewing a ton since May. Make it to final rounds just not to be picked. I’m exhausted from work and from interviewing.
All I can say is hang in there - you’ll land something!
I was in your position earlier this year. I was working 10-12 hours/day, some days without lunch (no exaggeration) bc workload and expectations were just way too high. I was constantly criticized, bullied, thrown under the bus, blamed, yelled at. I hit a wall with my boss and reported them to HR. The company ended up firing me in retaliation and kept the abusive supervisor. I ended up negotiating a severance and getting unemployment. I should have sued. Honestly, getting unemployment was the best thing that happened to me. I’m so close to landing a job, but it’s given me enough time to decompress, refocus my goals and search for a company that has a positive culture. Toxic workplaces are the worst. I wish you nothing but the best! Take care of yourself!
I’m so sorry your husband experienced that. It’s amazing how much some companies can get away with. Antisemitic comments? WOW! Some people are so terrible. I’m pretty sure I’ve suffered PTSD too. But yeah, I figured a lawsuit would draw things out. I just wanted to cut ties and move on. Wish these companies would pay for the damage they cause though.
I'm so sorry you have to go through that. Stay hopeful, you'll land something good soon enough. Keep working on those interviews but don't forget to give yourself a break from time to time.
