I just became the first Creative Director at a small-ish (70-80 employees) digital agency. Our current workflow doesn’t really allow for the traditional CD approval/involvement process. A few people are open for change. Several creatives feel threatened that they won’t have as much creative freedom now. And strategists are concerned about efficiencies with an added person to account workflow.

Any advice or insights on how to best navigate this new CD role within this type of environment?

Has anyone left healthcare and is now really happy? I’m an MSN, RN with 12 years hospital experience. I’m burned out and tired of making crap pay. How would you handle not getting a lunch break when you are a salaried employee treating patients for 40 hours a week? I don’t get documentation time either, but all notes are to be completed the same day. Some of us have reached out to HR and we’re told to discuss it with the regional director, but the regional director says we’d have to come in early or leave late to block out a lunch break. My commute is an hour each way, so I’d prefer not to make my day any longer. Advice?

Junior here. How common is it to be nudged off a brief when you can't get ideas through internally? My partner and I are often put on the same briefs as more experienced (sometimes senior) teams. As a result, their work tends to make it through to the client presentation while most of ours dies somewhere along the way from CD to CCO. Is this worth worrying over?
