it depends if you want a nicer hotel or you can put up with a cheaper one. generally try to make sure you’re getting at least 0.7 cents per point value. so if the room costs $500/night or 60k points, i think that’s a decent redemption.
Right now it claims to be 425 GBP/night for 60K points. Which I believe is around 531.25 USD/night (I low balled the conversion a bit), this comes to .89 cents per point. If I didn’t mess my math up
It just depends on the price of the hotel and your general spending habits. As SC1 said, if the hotel was otherwise $500/night or more then you are getting a good deal.
Personally, I am budget-crazy and rarely treat myself so I almost always redeem for lower-category stays (where it is often easier to find redemptions that are a good value). For example, 60,000 points could have gotten you 8-10 nights at a Category 1, which are usually around $100/night. That’s nearly double the “cash value” of the points. Obviously staying at a Fairfield is less than ideal for many people, but I personally prefer to save the money
The JW is across from Hyde Park and is convenient to lots of touristy places. Nice property too
if you book 4 nights on points, the 5th night is free, so if you’ll be in one place for a bit and can find a nice property, that’s definitely the move
Don’t stay there. Way fancier hotels there for same point redemption like jw or Marriott county hall
We wanted to stay in the Victorian Rail Station area, right now we are staying at The Park Tower Knightsbridge, a Luxury Collection Hotel, London. Do you have a better suggestion? I’ve never been to London so if you know a better hotel option, I’m all for it! Thanks for your insights!
