I just called a suicide prevention hotline. What has my life become.

You should be so proud of yourself for calling. I have before. It’s there for a reason. The hardest thing for me during my depression was the shame associated with it- and your post makes me think you may have some shame. I am here to say you are a human being who is struggling who was smart enough to reach out for help. Keep doing it. You can’t do it alone. And yes, it’s always great to wonder what has brought you to this point. But never ever be ashamed for getting help. Ever. There’s always a way out. There’s always a way to get through. You got this. I hope you are or will begin to work with a therapist- it changed my life.
