Shouldn’t it be “Live Unforgettably”?

For some reason, Apple got away with it. It worked. One broken rule doesn’t mean it works for everyone else, though. This just doesn’t work.

Isn’t off grammar and odd sentence structure sometimes used deliberately?

“Jeans That Gloria Vanderbilt”

Could it be that? Or maybe a result of some copywriting engine creating ads on the fly?

Can someone explain to me why biglaw firms don’t “review up” and have junior/mid level associates evaluate senior associates? I understand partners have no interest in hearing the minions gripe, but wouldn’t it be valuable to know if your senior associates—seeking to enter your partnership are good managers and not complete a**holes? I’ve had so many projects mismanaged by clueless senior associates lately and it seems like juniors/mid levels bear the brunt of it, but there’s no recourse.

Trying to decide if I should leave it as is, try to actively manage but worried that if furnished, renters will only be shortterm. Would emptying the place attract longer stay tenants? Also considering a property mgr but prob would be last resort . Wwyd?

Any copywriters here that crossed over into screenwriting? Want to know how common this is.

I have a writer that sometimes writes off brand, and gets mad when I correct the copy. I’ve tried having conversations prior to doing so, but sometimes during the rush of things I don’t get a chance to do so. In one instance, they challenged me by adding some deleted copy back on the document. What should I do? I think they see me as a colleague, and not a boss.

What’s better? (Both in NYC)
1. agency: variety of some big brands, ability to build portfolio, lower salary

2. in-house: nothing fancy to show for portfolio, creating the voice for the brand, higher salary (30-50k higher)

Anyone else get tired of the LinkedIn charade? Every day I see countless posts by people in advertising/marketing that come across as preachy, self-indulgent, humble brags that annoy me.

Like, the pompous CEO/CD who writes a long post about that time he hired an intern and learned a valuable life lesson that we could all learn.

Or the super-duper smart Copywriter who regurgitates Olgyvisms that we’ve all read a billion times to show his or her worth.

It’s 2020. And I’m jaded.

When did we agree to start replacing “and” with a comma in headlines? It does not read well AT ALL and I always do a double-take to make sure I’m not misreading. I’ve been seeing it across other outlets and within my own agency, too.

The reason I ask: I feel unfulfilled in my current role as a direct-response copywriter at a tech company and am thinking through next steps. I crave coming up with creative ideas and concepting with a close-knit team. I also appreciate brand strategy (I started as a junior strategist at an agency before realizing I belong on the other side of the brief).

“So, what’s your process?” has GOT to be the silliest interview question for a writer. Today I finally answered honestly that there’s no formula for this. You either have it or you don’t. Talent and some amount of fairy dust is what makes it happen.
