Travel, as in flying? Do the cat a favor and leave her with your boyfriend.
Flying that frequently is bad for animals.
I was in the same boat last year! After a few months of no travel, I fostered and then adopted a kitten from the shelter. It was really hard when I was staffed on a heavy travel project to leave her at home. But, when I return she’s happy to see me (as happy as any cat is willing to show) and we make up for lost time. And not gonna lie, sometimes I FaceTime my hubby & ask to talk to the cat after a long day at a client site.
I strongly suggest not putting your kitty through the stress of travel and then the unfamiliar setting of a hotel. Cats are creatures of territory and she’ll be better off if you leave her at home. If you put her in those situations, there’s a gooooood chance she’ll associate *you* with that stress so any hope of bonding time will be gone.
Was hoping to get advice from ppl who have done this or considered it themselves. I’d like to hear why or why not to do this from someone who actually has a baby cat lol
Jeez. Consultant with a boyfriend and a cat. 🙄 get rid of the cat. Boyfriend can travel easier.
I am facing the same dilemma. I was supposed to be on an year long local project which didn’t pan out and now I am on a travel project. I adopted a kitty and she is precious. I don’t have a SO to leave her with. I am thinking of a pet sitter come in 15mins a day and play with her. She has automatic feeder and water fountain. Hopefully she is okay
Where will you leave the cat when you go to the client office ?
Marriott has pet friendly hotels
Yeah that level of travel is way too stressful for a cat. Leave her with your boyfriend or have a friend come by. How long is your project?
Cats can stay alone for a few days and be fine. Get an automatic feeder and Just have someone come over every 2 days or so to refill water and check on them. Otherwise just leave her with your bf.
Cats definitely don’t do well with changing environments so taking her with you isn’t ideal.
