I just got a promotion, but I feel so unmotivated and anxious. My bosses are providing me with new opportunities, but I also feel like my work the past few months hasn’t been the best and I’ve made mistakes along the way. I feel like I’m one step from them realizing i’m not as good as they think I am. I’m not sure if I need a break or a career change.

I am a 3rd year senior associate in alternative investment tax and up for manager promotion this year. I really dislike the long hours of this job and seeking to make a move. Although I’m not sure i necessarily want to stay in tax. I have a young toddler at home and want to find a job i like, makes decent money, and has decent hours so i can spend more time with family.

Any tips on negotiating my raise? I have a check-in with a partner this week where we will discuss my raise. I just finished my first year at a consulting firm with ~4K employees. The average raise from first to second year seems to be 6.5% but I really want to gun for 10%. I have good reviews and the best chargeability metrics in my starting class. I was promoted to marketing director in April but didn’t get a raise. This is when the CMO left and my workload has since doubled and I have four people reporting to me. I was hired at $105k so I’m making decent money but I’ve asked several times about bringing it to a director-level salary at $120k. Nobody really talks about why people are resigning in record numbers from Deloitte and IMHO it’s not compensation. I think it’s more to do with poorly planned projects, hyper anxiety issues with SMs and Ms who are constantly on calls reporting the same status over and over again. Lack of pure agile implementation OR well defined dev process. Weird rules to not give you a promotion etc etc. Thoughts? (Note - I do want the brand name to shine again and I don’t want to leave like everyone else)

Need some guidance. My brother and I both have had major struggles with depression and anxiety due to our childhood. This past spring, he attempted to take his own life by ODing on designer benzos that he had bought on the internet. It turns out he had been taking them for years.
