I just got a remote job, I have a stipend to set up my work from home office but I am not sure how to go about it. Could you comment your remote work set up down below? This will help me with some ideas. Thanks in advance!

It really doesn't have to be fancy, you should just try to emphasize functionality over appearance. Obviously if you are going to do remote meetings you need to have a pleasant and organized background on camera, but other than that, just go with practical items and furniture, you probably don't need the latest greatest stuff. Check out yard sales and thrift shops, it's amazing what you can find there.

Depends on what you'll be using. If you're exclusively getting on voice calls you should invest in a mic, webcam for video calls, perhaps a second monitor. Assess your priorities and invest there

Can't overstate the value of an ergonomic chair. If you're spending long hours at the desk, that one's a must

I love my standing desk! It keeps me from staying too long in one position and getting my blood flowing.

An ergonomic chair and screen setup have made all the difference. A standing desk doesn't work for me personally, but if I could do it again I would get an adjustable desk so I have the option.

I have worked with customer support and writing, and I tell you that when I started I only had my laptop, a mouse and my dining room table at home. With time you will start to notice what you really need. I recommend you to have an ergonomic mousepad, an ergonomic and comfortable chair (you will be sitting there for many hours) and good lighting. The rest is complementary.

Hello fishes,

Please help me decide on the below offers:
I am very confused
- jpmc - 25lpa fixed (hyderabad location) (associate 601)
- bnp - 26.5 lpa fixed ( chennai location) (technical lead)
But both the cases , I need to relocate.
7 years java fullstack
- have service based companies offer in my current location (Wipro, mindtree, cognizant,)
- amdocs in process (current location)

Bnp seems more flexible with wfh option .10days offc and rest wfh.
Jpmc 3days /week work from office

Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.

So here are my questions.

How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.

When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.

Thanks in advance!

Have a formal offer at Citi for 120K as an AVP in the NY office. Currently making 92K at my current role where I feel there’s not much room to grow anymore. Is this a fair offer? I currently WFH pretty much full time at my current role which has been amazing, but it seems like Citi would require me to be there 2-3 days in the office per week - and this is something I’m very hesitant about. Thoughts on how to approach this?

Hi! Anybody knows of federal agencies hiring that are offering fulltime telework/remote?
I currently work for an agency based in DC and my boss is forcing us to come back into the office fulltime after we’ve been remote for nearly two years. Majority of my coworkers have already left for the private sector but I’d like to remain in the public.

Let’s talk office set ups. Anyone know much about the start up scene in E Africa? I hear a lot of general talk about how it’s ‘booming’ but can’t find much information online. I’m in a weird position where I’m trying to switch into tech but am moving to Kampala for the next year. I am applying now to remote jobs in the U.S. but would love to connect with companies operating in the region.
